Good news, Bluesky fam: I got my Switch 2 on launch day yesterday! Costco for the win. First impressions: the hardware feels premium. Control sticks on the Joy-Cons are smooth as silk. Buttons have the right amount of clicky and spongy. The screen looks amazing. Nintendo rocked this hardware.

When thinking back to the N64 (my favorite of that era), my mind reels at the fact that Windows 95 (you know, the one that first had the start menu?) was a mere 1 year old when Mario was running around in 3D on a $200 home console. Bonkers! I vividly remember the awe it struck in me.

Sobering fact of the day. I spent a few minutes calculating how long it would take to play all the games in my backlog. Sensible session lengths, it's not a job, etc, all factored in. Reader, I would not live long enough. I mean, I'd have to set a new world record for oldest person.

Successfully pre-ordered Switch 2 + Mario Kart bundle at Target. Target doesn't guarantee a release day delivery, but happy that it's in the books. Good night and good luck, fellow pre-orderers.

Awakening really was an awesome game. It got me into Fire Emblem, and a big reason for that was it was on a portable console. Speaking of: I’m excited about Switch 2, but I do hope they give us a Switch 2 Lite, especially given the larger screen on the regular model.

X is getting worse by the day. Spent some time this morning finding Bluesky and Threads accounts for my follows + followers. I haven't posted on there in a while but still check it because a lot of posts still originate there.

Check out my Nintendo Switch Year in Review for 2024! See yours at year-in-review.nintendo.com I really enjoyed Echoes of Wisdom. The music is so good. Super Mario RPG was quick but every bit as good as I remember. And Metroid: Zero Mission on GBA is still my favorite 2D entry. #NintendoSwitch2024

VectorMan is a classic run-n-gun and has one of the best soundtracks on Genesis / Mega Drive. Incredible animation as well. One of my top three Genesis games!
