I think my favorite thing with LLM-forward browser concepts I've seen is a way to make information retrieval not only slower, but also potentially inaccurate.

We should be able to buy adderall, testosterone & estrogen OTC at Walmart while buying a gun should require 6-12 months of intensive therapy beforehand and monthly reapproval from your psychiatrist

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered. Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again. Their inaction is deadly.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

Some tech bros love AI just because it gives you so many kisses on the forehead. As someone suspicious of a technology that gives compliments, AI creeps me out every time I've interacted with it. In my latest blog, I poke at this idea: www.frank.computer/blog/2025/06...

🦊 NEW(ish) WORK! For the last few months I’ve been helping out at @unbreaking.org, a volunteer-powered project that’s documenting the administration’s attacks on US institutions. They’re bringing clarity to the chaos, and it’s been a privilege to work with them. ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/unbrea...

ARIA! It exists and on a long enough timeline you'll need to use it. Here's how to get into the right headspace to do so! #a11y www.smashingmagazine.com/2025/06/what...

I’ve written a blog post dissecting a real accessibility job role and what red flags you should look out before applying: www.craigabbott.co.uk/blog/mission... #accessibility #a11y

every time i hear about new information i'm like no thanks and then the next day i hear more new information

Free idea: A writing app that silently publishes your content after reaching a predetermined word count, randomized on a per-document basis.

Amazing how hard it is to write: “Police shoot at journalists.”

A good reminder that people don’t sue when an experience isn’t WCAG conformant, they sue when they have access issues. www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consum...

no, i don’t want a summary i want to read the words from your bulging frontal lobe you typed carefully with your weary hands i want to know your context, what’s inside of you, illuminated further by your considered choice of adjectives i will never want a summary for you cannot be summarised

There's a lot of big news today/this week, but Apple just dropped a nuke of a paper about LLMs & LRMs, specially around "high-complexity tasks where both models experience complete collapse." This is the biggest sign yet that if AI ever lives up the hype, it won't be via those approaches:

sure, we have yet another a fascistic abuse of power as the country slow-rolls into a kakistocratic dictatorship but at least Apple products are about to get a lot less legible

well, that's a new one

Web sites with a Facebook pixel were communicating with local native apps (Instagram, Facebook, maybe WhatsApp) to log (and attribute) incognito web browsing activity. Write-up: localmess.github.io Story: english.elpais.com/technology/2...

GitHub just launched enhanced contrast controls — now everyone can customize their theme, even when logged out 🎉 Adjust contrast on light/dark modes to reduce eye strain and boost readability. One more step toward a more inclusive GitHub experience 💪 github.blog/changelog/20...

Declan Chidlow takes us on a really interesting tour of the often, under-reported world of print stylesheets, how to use them and also how to debug them. piccalil.li/blog/printin...

One of the traits of AI is that it is not optional. They will figure out a way to jam it into everything you love and declare it a New Innovative AI Use Case. And you will have to deal with the consequences.

pushing down the urge to write about how to design for a glassomorphism aesthetic in an accessible way before Apple's next event thing
