It is exeat weekend for me and I am loving it. I didn’t get dressed until 10.30, drank lots of cups of tea and I am now enjoying the sunshine. Bliss

Lego jellyfish on Lego ideas. ideas.lego.com/s/p:ee097824... I think this would make an amazing set.

2nd sourdough bread is definitely an improvement.

Tried to set up my Hestia telescope last night to take a photo of the moon and Jupiter. Couldn’t get it to work at all. Looked at it this morning and realised I had the solar filter on! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Inset tomorrow - why do I always get back to school nerves?

My first attempt at making bread since lockdown. I’m using my daughter’s starter. Not looking too bad pre baking. Looking at doing this once a week in term time.

Daughter has gone back to uni 😢 so no more homemade sourdough for me. 😭

On Christmas day in 1643, male physicist Isaac Newton was born in Lincolnshire, England. Though he never did marry or have children, Newton made important contributions to the field.

Please, for the love of god, WHERE is the end of the sellotape ?

Did everyone just give their dog’s head a pat? #WallaceAndGromit

Christmas Day tradition. Managed to get them all but not heard of some of the books. (Google might have been used!) Anyone else play this? hiddenbooks.nationalbooktokens.com

Picky tea tonight. What are you having for Christmas Eve?

My daughter is a genius. She has made the Christmas cake as a wreath which has lots of benefits: A) it is much easier to cut B) more icing per slice C) the middle circle has made a very cute mini cake.

Christmas shopping all done, wrapped and under the tree. Well, not wrapped as in an effort to be less disposable I’ve made up fabric Christmas bags we can reuse.

Physicist Elizabeth Laird was born #OTD in 1874. Over the course of her career she worked on spectroscopy, soft X-rays, and radiation absorption by tissue. In 1909 she became the first woman accepted by J.J. Thomson to do research at Cavendish Laboratory. 🧪 ⚛️ 👩‍🔬 Image: Mount Holyoke

Anyone else on exeat this weekend?

Those who teach in a regular school rather than a boarding school will never now the exquisite pleasure of an exeat weekend.

What a brilliant, and completely knackering, week. We had the moon rocks in school and managed to get all year 7-11 to see them (except for a few who had rugby match). Totally awesome to have actual samples from Apollo 15,16 and 17.

Had fun in physics today looking at how stretchy fuzzy rainbow belts are. #ITeachPhysics #ChatPhysics

I had such a fun day today. Year 6 students came in for an assessment day and did a mini science lesson. I demoed dry ice sublimation - they loved seeing it used as a fire extinguisher and catching a balloon that was heavier than expected.
