Grifter in Chief

congress should consider stopping the stupidest person who has ever lived from destroying the economy

This is an official plan for ethnic cleansing. If you supported Israel for the past 18 months or so under the assumption that this was about the hostages you were taken for a ride. If you still support Israel's assault on Gaza, you support ethnic cleansing. It's that simple.

Free speech should be protected, not punished with imprisonment. What's happening to Rümeysa and Mahmoud impacts ALL of us. Donald Trump means to stoke fear so people will stop speaking out. But we will NOT stand by as our neighbors are disappeared and detained.

This is straight authoritarianism

"Unlike the chat in which The Atlantic was included, the newly revealed one was created by Hegseth. Named “Defense | Team Huddle,” it included his wife and about a dozen other people.... He used his private phone, not his government one, to access the Signal chat." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/u...

Oh look. Another bribery and extortion scheme.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene disclosed that she had purchased between tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stock on April 8 and 9, the day before and the day of President Trump’s announcement that he was pausing a sweeping set of global tariffs.

To all those cattle producing red states:

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Breaking news: The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage — a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China www.ft.com/content/20d0...

"The Camp of the Saints" remains, and so does "Mein Kampf." Okay. I agree. But the cadets' tender eyes must not fall on Barbara and Karen Fields's book on race? Madness, and a national embarrassment. (Barbara is one of the best teachers I ever had.) www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/u...

MIT following Harvard's lead here

what a delightfully charming oopsie from the septuagenarian with the nuclear codes 👍👍 www.cbsnews.com/news/h-r-mcm...

War hero schools a chickenhawk.

Welcome to the dumbest administration

Trump just imposed, by executive order, the single largest tax increase on consumers in American history.

There are no tariffs being put on Russia. Hmmm

Kill a white millionaire, get the death penalty. Kill two black protesters, get invited to CPAC to be celebrated.

He's been there about a year and a half. He is JUNIOR. For anyone not familiar with legal education and the legal industry, this is someone who has sunk probably hundreds of thousands of dollars and untold hours of work into getting to the top of a profession and he has the courage to do this.

When your former staffers are telling us first-hand how your views are at the cost of the future of your party, and you put capital interests above people and supporting DOGE's ransack... It's time to step aside for stronger, forward-thinking leadership that can rebuild trust with constituents.

Damn. Ranking Member Kamlager-Dove calls GOP witness Matt Taibbi a "serial sexual harasser" and enters articles into the congressional record about his history as a sex pest

Among the many errors this administration has made: 2019 was not the Biden administration. The VP tweets without first checking for obvious errors. If they make the easy ones, they're making the more subtle, less obvious ones too.

Thanks, SCOTUS & Chief Justice Roberts!

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies. The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits. Maybe it's not the judges?

I wrote for MSNBC about the grotesque irony of Trump stripping due process from innocent people while he himself gleefully exploits it to evade criminal accountability. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

every person involved in this needs to be in prison

A Venezuelan minister "said on Friday that no one among the hundreds of deportees to a Salvadoran prison, whom Washington accused of being members of Venezuela's Tren de Aragua gang, were related to the criminal organization." "It is a lie, a massive lie." #trump #usa #venezuela #elsalvador

need you to constantly remind yourself that the average normal person has no idea that any of the stuff we are rightly getting upset about is going on. they dont know. and we need to do everything we individually can to make them know.

I could write up why there’s no constitutional problem with the President using an auto-pen to sign official documents—or I could just post the 30-page 2005 opinion by George W. Bush’s Office of Legal Counsel that explains why in lots of detail. I choose the latter: www.justice.gov/file/494411/...

What. Is. This. Garbage.

Once you establish that people can be punished because the administration doesn't like their speech, expanding the bounds of who can be treated that way becomes inevitable.

oh this is a big mystery

It feels like a lot of centrist pundits are rallying around Schumer because they feel the lesson of 2024 was that pushing out the ineffective older guy didn't work, instead of that they probably should've pushed him out earlier to get the new crew organized sooner.

This is outrageous. Judge Boasberg’s order went against government agencies which were in the US, and which were in direct contact with the plane. He must hold them in contempt of court.

A federal court’s jurisdiction does *not* stop at the water’s edge. The question is whether the *defendants* are subject to the court order, not *where* the conduct being challenged takes place. Were it otherwise, the government could act lawlessly overseas and courts would be powerless to stop it.

Actually, the White House explicitly admitted to violating the order. Their claim is they don’t have to comply with court orders.

If you supported a 10 year old American child with brain cancer, on her way to medical treatment, being deported because her parents are undocumented (but have no criminal records), then you’re a horrific person and I’m not sure how you sleep at night.
