Just made a visualization for myself about the unprecedented growth in solar that I thought I might share. You can see how from 1880 to 1950 all our electricity came from fossil and hydro. Then nuclear briefly grew with market share increasing with up to 1% per year in 1985. Now solar takes over.

This electric car from BYD has "flash charging" which is megawatt charging to you and me. That means it can dump more than 500 km into the battery in under 5 minutes. This isn't sci-fi. It's real and it exists now. This car also costs only $35k USD here in China.

Wow, look at this: the carbon intensity of UK electricity is currently only 32g/kWh and 86.5% of our electricity right now is coming from renewables. Come on world, this IS possible! And it will only get better (meaning: cleaner, healthier, less intrusive) 🎉 (graphic from grid.iamkate.com )

Oh no way. MG have just unveiled their new electric 4x4 that's cool and relatively compact but - get this - it has POP-UP HEADLIGHTS!!! It's the CyberX, designed by high-profile designer Jozef Kaban and I think I medically need one. Here's hoping it enters production soon.

Europe’s car sales rebounded in March on surging #EV demand + a 12% UK sales growth. Carmakers boosted their EV sales by offering rebates. It’s unclear whether that growth will continue now that the EU said in early March carmakers would get slightly more time to meet stricter CO2 emissions limits.
