Yay, my poem ‘The Morning Shift at Wetherspoons Begins with Majesty’ is highly commended in the Ware Poets Competiton judged by the inestimable @hannahcopley.bsky.social. Congrats to all winners, can’t wait to hear the work in July

Thanks to Brawl Lit for accepting this little poem on friendship 🐢

Our online series PITYBATH will publish vol. 2 a week from today on tues june 10th featuring work from @ewenglass.bsky.social moss Berke, Jesse McCarty and KD Sims. —- vol. 1 is live if you want to get up to speed! #poetsky #booksky 🌈📚 #writersky #smallpress

A wee story that’s just gone up on Citywide Lunch…

This is an odd (and brilliant) one. They read one of my poems out on this, my favourite podcast, and only *slightly* took the piss! Genuinely chuffed.

Ya boy has a micro chap in this! Just look at that lineup 🌺

Thanks to all at ace UK lit mag STRINGS for giving this one a good home ⚽️ 🐕 💥

What do we feel about having to submit an artist's statement along with your work?

Just a wee reminder that my chapbook 'The Art of Washing What You Can't Touch' is available at the Big River place. I also have a few signed/defaced copies if you want to drop me a line. It's full of poems like this one, originally in @havehashad.com

Do I want an acceptance or not?

Thanks to Kevin at The Disappointed Housewife for publishing "From Infancy," an invoice by Ewen Glass: thedisappointedhousewife.com/2025/05/20/f...

Get on this - Chrissy's work is brilliant!

Literally, how do I develop the patience for posh lit mags with 240-day response times?

Didn’t get any photos last night but someone gave me this nice sketch of me reading some poems

A (cheery) little one from me 🔥

Another favourite poem, this time @janezwart.bsky.social's 'For Richard, with Love and Squalor'

Another fave by County Antrim’s own Louis MacNeice (that second verse 🤩)

I've never been to AWP but I imagine it's just like The Met Gala

This is a version of a Rilke sonnet btw: 'Versions,' Paterson says, 'are trying to be poems in their own right; while they have the original to serve as detailed ground-plan and elevation, they are trying to build themselves a robust home in a new country, in its vernacular...'

I ❤️ Don Paterson’s poems

Congrats to everyone on here. It's such a brilliant idea to celebrate carers and their words.

I just love this poem by Ajay Kumar in Bombay Lit Mag

Psyched to have a poem in the ace new Body anthology from @rough-diamond1.bsky.social edited by @charlottecosgrove.bsky.social. It's called Drawers in Off Milk White and the whole book is more than worth a look. Also: sorry for using 'psyched'.

Had one of those heavy (and necessary) sessions with my therapist today. You can feel like you're getting nowhere in therapy for months, then an abrupt clarity. I don't know if you'd call it a breakthrough but you suddenly make more sense to you.

So glad that @south85journal.bsky.social went for this poem for their brill borders-boundaries-lines issue

I think this is amazing

I was so pleased to place it in @maudlinhouse.bsky.social that I forgot to share the piece! Goes without saying, there's loads of amazing stuff over there, as usual... maudlinhouse.net/garish-decor...

Some news, as they say. I'm thrilled that my new poetry chapbook 'If You Stand in the Corner of the Spare Room You Can Just About See the Sea' will be published by @inkfishmagazine.bsky.social this year!

Just received the tersest rejection I've ever had. 7 words excluding hellos and goodbyes, nearly 1 word for each of the 6 poems I submitted!
