I’ll be diving into this next time I have to prep for the Varieties of English class

Uber was subsidized by venture capital to operate at a loss with a cheap service so as to break labor, legislation, the transit industry. Same w/ AirBnB, Netflix etc. What is AI trying to break by operating at a loss? What do they need to diminish the quality of so as to make opting out unpleasant?

A good thread, but let's be clear, this isn't just a movement "with" elite leaders, it is a movement largely *created* by elite leaders, based on false premises and a lot of pettiness. The issue isn't "yokels" or stupidity, but selfishness and dogmatic ideology.

My own Election Day reminders: 1) We don't elect the prime minister so there is no such thing as "PM-elect". If you must, say "PM-designate" or "presumptive PM" OR, if it's Mark Carney, just say "Prime Minister", because he's literally still PM even after the results tonight. 1/n

Getting really tired of these pieces. Where is the equivalent effort to give a voice to the majority of Albertans who are not interested in this? Can we please get equivalently detailed “70% of Albertans don’t share Preston Manning’s ideas, we ask them how they feel about this idea” coverage?
