Interesting bit of papal history: Francis is the first pope buried outside St Peter’s since Leo XIII in 1903. He’s buried in Santa Maria Maggiore, another church in Rome. But the last pope buried outside of Rome was Gregory XII in 1415. @ncronline.bsky.social
