Beautiful day for a walk across Naarm as part of the Yoorrook #WalkForTruth. Massive thank you to all the organisers and the safety marshalls and deadly First Nations road crew and all the speakers who made today so special. #WurundjeriWoiwurrungCountry #BunurongCountry #BoonWurrungCountry

The following thread contains 201 open access articles, books, chapters & reports written and led by First Nations’ researchers. We write our own research across all areas. The order is random and ranges across disciplines, because of course it does. #201FirstNationsArticles

Our book is out and available to read open access online: academic.oup.com/book/60532. It is dedicated to Niko.

Another thing to pressure my MP about: data centres don't have to report water use making it impossible to plan for future water needs; yet the government will monitor water use in homes using "smart meters". This is not just dumb. It's hypocritical, dehumanizing, and an ecocide-promoting policy.

I'm not the first to point this out but this stuff is in my wheelhouse. ✅️Defending your proposed bill. ❌️Singling out a specific academic in the style of a wanted poster with "victim on the day" on it. This is only done this way to (1) silence experts (2) drive harassment & complaints against them

SPEECHLESS. The sheer caucasity!

The draft Plastics Treaty has 3 sets of “Principles & Approaches, only 1 of which includes “knowledge of Indigenous Peoples. Even then, it includes Indigenous *knowledge* to the marked exclusion of Indigenous *Peoples*. A better way starts with Indigenous rights. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

In Australia, 34 years ago, "14% of the prison population was First Nations. Today, it’s 36%, even though Indigenous people make up just 3.8% of Australia’s overall population." theconversation.com/decades-on-f...

Ok, *this* is best comparative stat, members of media: The DC Pride parade one week ago had a bigger turnout.

Nobody is rioting. Nobody is breaking any laws. These are cops in my city of Las Vegas just assaulting and arresting anyone on Fremont Street who looks at them. This is fascism.

We’re honored to report that over 11 million showed up for today’s No Kings protest, and totals are still coming in. Just… wow. WOW 😮! There’s nothing more to say.

So this week we’ve had a man impersonating an ICE agent tie up a woman and steal $1000; a man impersonating a police officer assassinate a top Democratic politician & her husband (and shoot another Democrat & his wife); and a man impersonating a king hold a military parade for his birthday

Increase in methane emissions from fossil fuels has been underestimated. Our new PNAS paper just published today: www.pnas.org/doi/epub/10....

I'm proud I don't have Andrew Cuomo's record of corruption, scandal and disgrace. And the name is M-A-M-D-A-N-I.

We have lost all contact with our UNRWA colleagues in Gaza, communications have been cut off. This morning, for the first time in months, we did not receive their morning messages to say, "good morning" and "we are fine/alive". We anxiously await to hear from our colleagues.

Nothing. Not a cent. Zip. Nada. Big fat zero. There's about 19 million people with super and this effects about 65 thousand people with balances of more than $3 mill (and even then it wouldn't require you to do anything unless you have an SMSF.)

in so many videos out of LA i am seeing officers aiming rubber bullets right into crowds, this is filling me with a deep and anxious rage knowing what happens when they do that www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...

if Thunberg is brave enough to repeatedly put herself directly in harm’s way, then journalists can be brave enough to say that a civilian vessel was illegally seized in international waters, and its crew abducted

"My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel."

Every environmental org that latched on to Greta circa 2018/2019 needs to be doing everything they can to advocate for her and everyone else on the flotilla to be released immediately.

It’s not just that it’s clearly intentional, it’s that it’s clearly intentional knowing that he’s being recorded. They know they can do whatever they want with complete impunity.

Senator Ted Cruz posted a dramatic video of LAPD cars on fire with the caption “this… is… not… peaceful.” What he didn’t mention? The footage was from 2020, not 2025. His post on X falsely implied it was current, part of a broader effort to spread lies and manufacture a crisis.

I know there was a lot going on in American politics today, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight how much I admire the work that Greta Thunberg and the Freedom Flotilla are doing. They're sailing an aid ship across the Mediterranean to Gaza right now, despite lacking Israeli permission.

Veerrryyy good @megcevans.bsky.social piece here - the core function of Australia's carbon offsetting industry is providing cheap simulated climate action to create permission for fossil fuel expansion. Seeing offset-bros reacting to M is amazing www.crikey.com.au/2025/06/06/l... @crikey.com.au

As many of us people who study or work in tech tried to tell y’all, move fast & break things was always about POWER, not progress.

On World Environment Day, for me it's all about the rivers. This river, the Birrarung, teaches me about reciprocity every day.

BREAKING: French dock workers in Fos-sur-Mer refused today to load machine gun ammo destined for Israel's army

Rape culture in action: When a bloke working out of the PM’s office films numerous women without their consent - and they weren’t all sex workers, the headline imo is an attempt to minimise the offending - and does not get charged - women are not safe and it starts at the very top. #Nzpol

The sheer insincerity of "abloo hoo hoo I was in a ~dark place~ which MADE me take intimate recordings of women without consent, weirdly not any men though, but I've Done Therapy now! Yet never considered apologising until the story went public" aside, Michael Forbes' apology is such bullshit...

It wasn’t just sex workers it was women in gymns, in supermarkets and even the beehive. The man was a stalker imo. The headline attempts to minimise the offending because of known prejudice against sex workers means some people don’t believe they have the right to privacy or consent. They’re wrong

This is “healthcare” in the United States. A pharmacy benefit manager randomly decided they just weren’t going to cover this man’s inhaler anymore, so he couldn’t afford it. He died of an asthma attack. Devastating. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Enough of this racist fiction. Enough. Not a single non-white person in England is in a job in the NHS *because* they are non-white. Not a single one. And as for the idea that England's criminal justice system goes easy on non-white people because they are non-white. Well. Just think about that.

The Trump administration is working with private companies like Palantir to create detailed reports on every American, which could help them weaponize our personal information in their quest to deport immigrants and punish critics. This is a huge threat to our constitutional rights.

In Norway, herrings are losing their elders and their knowledge of migration routes. The solution? Change harvesting practices to encourage a population boom and help the fish recover their collective memory.

Unbelievable! Today, San Diego witnessed a government-sanctioned kidnapping. ICE stormed Buona Forchetta in military gear ripping workers away, then unleashing tear gas and smoke on the terrified community. Full on police state, fascism now used on American citizens. Stay aware. #OnYourSide
