I can’t speak for every city, but here in LA, ICE bounty hunters aren’t going after gang members. They’re hunting the vulnerable: gardeners, street vendors, day laborers. Easy money, no risk. Folks need to stop pretending this is about crime. @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social—thank you for your words.

The Supreme Court issued a stay, effectively ruling, for now, that the Constitution no longer applies, at least not to immigrants. Fast-track deportations with no opportunity for judicial review violate the fundamental principle of due process, especially for people already on U.S. soil.

All politics is local. A Chicago restaurant named Gale Street Inn has closed permanently due to not being able to get staff because of ICE raids. Gale Street Inn had been around for over 60 years. I thought it would be around forever. The house specialty was ribs and good memories.

Trump/GOP plans to cut 9.5 billion SNAP meals from pregnant women, kids, the disabled & elderly. That means almost 42 million Americans can eat only 16.4 meals a week, not 21. What would you call forcing the poor to go hungry from Saturday after breakfast until a half meal Sunday night?
