Today's the day! My new book MORE EVERYTHING FOREVER is finally out! If you want to understand why tech billionaires are so obsessed with impossible ideas about space and AI — and why that's dangerous — this book is for you. #MoreEverythingForever www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/adam-...

“As long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world’s problems or, for that matter, to any problems.” — Pope Francis

The people who contribute to Twitt-X like to say they're the last bastion of truth, but they're either making money, getting off to the fighting or unwilling to give up the fake prestige of having a "massive" following. An egotistical thing.

The TV show "Adolescence" sucked. It's brilliantly written, flawlessly acted, excellent film making that causes all the viewers that are already too sympathetic to the violent little incels ruining the world, to be even more unnecessarily and unproductively accommodating of their hateful entitlement

Oh my God... it was all ChatGPT. They didn't even care enough about the American economy to do any of the work themselves. It almost feels... impeachable? How could sloppily using AI to create domestic policy, then hiding it, be consistent with the Oath of Office?

Or, hear me out… While Jeff Bezos, who’s worth $214B, writes off the mini-yachts he buys for his mega-yachts on his taxes, while exploiting workers, 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck struggling to afford groceries. Maybe people are just hungry and can’t afford food.

Organized crime networks are more adaptable and more dangerous than ever before, a new Europol report warns. It identifies seven key areas where networks are becoming more sophisticated, including cybercrime.

Our priority now: Implementation, implementation, implementation! Putin will not be deterred if we read the White Paper to him. He will be deterred if we turn the White Paper into action. We must use it to build very real drones, tanks, artillery for European defence readiness.

A self-coup happening in Turkey! Istanbul mayor and the man to beat Erdoğan--Ekrem İmamoğlu--is arrested. Social media restrictions and ban on demonstrations in place... Threatened by surging opposition, Erdoğan is taking advantage of geopolitics & going full authoritarian! 1/2

Ukraine has supplied the U.S. with extensive intelligence and vast amounts of data on Russian technology, captured equipment, battlefield operational guides, weapon performance, and countermeasures against US provided systems. A shame no one seems to remembers or appreciates it

Remember the story about the ~100 Russians that went into a gas pipeline in the Kursk region to sneak behind Ukrainian lines? Russian military channels are now reporting that most of them were killed. Either because of suffocation or by Ukrainian drones or cluster munitions.

What in holy smokes is this colonial capture, Batman? This essentially gives one of the world’s richest funds executive fiat over global trade flows. Think of the supply chain clusterf*cks and basic foodstuffs bottlenecks this could cause www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

SCOOP: Business leaders are paying as much as $5,000,000 to meet one-on-one with President Donald Trump at his Florida compound, sources tell WIRED, while others are paying $1,000,000 apiece to dine with him in a group setting.

trump was literally president for four years during which he wildly escalated drone warfare, tried to provoke a war with Iran and got into dangerous saber-rattling with north korea. now, he is threatening to take greenland and the panama canal by force. what is this horseshit?

I love that there's still a paper that makes a political cartoon the centerpiece of its front page. This was once commonplace. By veteran cartoonist Bill Bramhall.

The current situation:

oh word, someone's finally saying it

Narcissistic personality disorder has a higher prevalence in countries like the U.S. that have a dominant culture centered around individualism as compared with countries where collectivism is a dominant cultural norm.

Hello Bluesky! I'm joining this platform because now more than ever, the American people need to be informed about what's going on. Chaos is up, corruption is up, and costs are up — and I spoke on The View about how Democrats are standing up for the American people.

Baroness Sue Gray, Keir Starmer’s former chief of staff, is hardly the first beneficiary of partisan patronage. 59 per cent of life peers recently appointed to the House of Lords are either ex-politicians, Spads or major donors. www.prospectmagazine...

Tech billionaires demanded Donald Trump use the power of the US government to pressure other countries not to crack down on them. Now Trump is pulling out of a global tax agreement and threatening tariffs against countries that pass digital services taxes targeting multinational tech companies.

If you want a definition of evil look no farther than all the billionaires with far more money than they could ever need constantly demanding more. They are literally murdering people with poverty for extra zeros in their bank account that make absolutely no difference to them.

Without billionaires everything would be cheaper, your wages would be higher and your taxes would be lower. And there would be no negatives.

Labour’s growth obsession ignores a key truth: we’ve already ‘arrived’ – instead of chasing more, it’s time to share prosperity fairly | Peter Wrigley @yorkshirebylines.co.uk

Hi All, I released this post to subscribers a few months ago, about what Europe could do for Ukraine or its own security if Trump did exactly what we are seeing now. I've taken off the paywall--as I think its important enough that anyone should read it who wants. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Increasingly, America’s rich and powerful—like Trump and Musk—use defamation suits not to win but to inflict ruinous expense and suffering on the defendants and solicit attention, support, and fundraising for themselves. This is a grave threat to free speech. @kenwhite.bsky.social

Renewables are cheaper to produce, but not growing fast enough. Why? You can charge sky-high prices for scarce, hard-to-reach fossil fuels—but never for abundant sun, wind & water power. Instead of compensating for this market failure, Gov is doing the exact opposite👇

"The press's failure to connect these dots isn't just a journalistic oversight — it's a critical missed warning about the systematic dismantling of democratic governance." 👏 👏 👏

“Never before has a presidential administration so openly wielded the power of the federal government as a blunt-force instrument to be used against fellow Americans, journalism outlets, and, yes, its political rivals.” NEW from @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social:

1/ Here's my take on what's happening with DOGE. I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.

Also buy 5 copies, pass them around, read it cover to cover before you start getting advice from anon accounts online, ok?

As soon as you introduce money into democracy, there is no democracy, because most people will vote for whatever gets them a huge pile of money. There should be no gifts, no donations, no 2nd jobs, no money of any kind for Politicians, except their wage from the voters.
