Mayer’s “They Thought They Were Free” is one of the most important and frightening books I’ve ever read. Every small incursion into civil rights and civic life, every demonization of a marginalized group matters. Push back early in the ways you can; chances to say no dwindle. 1/3

Someone very dear to me just died. His media consumption led him to believe it might be possible to treat cancer with ivermectin. It was not. One day people will look at the charts of excess deaths caused by Donald Trump and Fox News and not be wrong when they say America committed suicide.
