Arresting someone for asking a question ain’t a display of strength. It’s a display of weakness.

🚨🚨California national guards troops & marines deployed to #LA to help restore order after days of protest against the Trump admin have told friends and family members that their only meaningful role will be as pawns in a political battle they do not want to join.🧵 www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

What's super fun is that the Republican party has been trying to kill PBS *for my entire life*. The MAGA dipshits who love Masterpiece Mystery have no excuse for their ignorance. variety.com/2025/tv/news...

'Business as usual' gonna get us killed.😰

In U.S. v. Lovett (1946), the Supreme Court held that not even Congress, in a bill signed by POTUS, may cut off all contracts with a named individual or organization: that’d be an unconstitutional bill of attainder. Only courts can decide who deserves to be punished. SoTrump can’t do it with an EO!

Petty spite and the continuing assault on higher education. www.bbc.com/news/article...

"The disaster in North Carolina became the jumping point for a myriad of conspiracies and attacks by Republicans against the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Trump vowed he would improve disaster responses as president." www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Educated folks are less likely to for vote for Republicans, so Republicans defund education...

Well payed, Harvard, well played. Harvard offers FREE American Government course.

I like this (free) energy. There is always something institutions can do besides capitulating. pll.harvard.edu/course/ameri...

Qatari donations to U.S. institutions are “a subtle and pernicious form of influence peddling designed to launder Qatar’s reputation—a form of soft corruption that Trump has now characteristically taken to cartoonish excess,” writes @yair-rosenberg.bsky.social:

The transition of Republicans from “We’re not Fascists” to “What’s wrong with Fascism?” is now complete.

This is a really important read for many people out there, as this has been erroneously reported. The spending bill DOES ban HRT from Medicaid, which is horrific. It does NOT ban ACA/Private plans from covering it, as Gillian Branstetter of the ACLU lays out in her thread here.

Stay safe out there friends. There’s Ice on the roads in Florida today. 🥶

Doug Burgum's delusion of "plenty of time" to tackle climate change is a dangerous fantasy. Slashing green funds while prioritizing AI and Iran over our planet's survival is reckless. The climate crisis won't wait for political games. #3E

I completely agree with this. Hold them accountable for their complicity in trafficking human beings to far away places of the world that are NOT their countries of origin. And not just any countries, but selectively and intentionally those that are war torn and extremely dangerous…

Most excellent thread.

Perfectly encapsulates the kind of society the Right envisions: One in which all angry, aggrieved cranks are enabled to serve as deputies of the regime to impose a reactionary moral, cultural, and social order and sniff out anyone who dares to deviate, anything that makes them uncomfortable.

This is who they are. They think they should rule the world because they have all the money.

Kicking moms and babies off of their health insurance (during Women’s Health Week, no less) is a low blow.

Damn straight!!!

BREAKING NEWS: Every Republican Senator just signed off on the DOGE destruction of Social Security! Frank Bisignano has spent the last few months helping Donald Trump and Elon Musk take a chainsaw to Social Security. Shame on these Senators for being complicit in the attacks on Social Security.

HOLY SHIT!!!🤬

While this report presents itself as an apolitical “review of evidence and best practices,” it deserves the same scrutiny and careful fact-checking as any government-produced document. Journalists should quote it only with appropriate context and after thorough vetting.
