Elon doesn't have any friends but you could imagine a mega-billionaire building up capitol hill relationships for 10+ years and then financing an impeachment (which they wouldn't need). But Elon is wrong-footed here in every way. He's not a chess player!

Somewhat funny that Musk is taking the play from Trump's book: "I will blow up the Republican party if it doesn't bend to my desires." He's obviously not as central as Trump but his money (and megaphone) does matter to the party.

I was too young for deep blue but in my life chess computers have gone from good to unbeatable and then finally to where we are now (unbeatable but elegant, mind-bending, instructive). My impulse is to dislike LLM models. But abstractly what's happening now feels like it did with chess programs

ai-2027.com I wouldn't say I "worry" about this stuff bc there's nothing I can do about it and if it happens my career (as well as those of most of the people on this website etc.) is gone and no amount of understanding the model will help. But ... I kinda worry about it!
