I'm more upset than that emoji that I didn't think of it first

Growing up GenX meant almost no childhood tech, playing outside in relative safety, and joining society at the Cold War's end. All things considered, a pretty good time. Still, it means we can see what we've already lost and how much we're losing right now. The Y2K bug may have been a sleeper.

Two truth things at once: the Dem Sen's who voted for the 6mo funding bill did the right thing so R's would own *all* this shit AND the Old Guard (ahem, Schumer) need to step aside for younger replacements

The phrase "can't see the forest for the trees keeps going thru my head". What can't I observe from this vantage? Who can see the perspective to which I am blind and how is that affecting our relationship? Dangerously close to failure due to not reading minds.

so the whole "our controls were not built to handle foxes running EVERY leg of the chicken coop" thing - what's the fix for that?

Polls showing the percentage who identify as part of MAGA from 29 last November to 36 now - with college educated men the largest increase. Is that classic R's figuring out T's brand of chaos benefits them the most and saying Why Not? gross.

I wonder how many German civilians in the early 1930s started their mornings staring aghast at a kitchen wall, shaking their head, waiting for their coffee water to boil, while trying to comprehend what was happening around them and determine what to do in response.

Religion is a primary cause of selective blindness?

OMGSame! must be goin'round

And I see absolutely NO REGRETS on that good boy's face

Iknowrigh? It's like "maybe water isn't wet and I only *think* my body needs oxygen since I know I feel better if I take my antioxidant vitamins 🤔"

@ylepidemiologist.bsky.social is right. You can humiliate and fire us. But we will not stay down. Because we truly believe in our mission. We fight for people. We fight for kids. For the right to survive and the hope to thrive. Goodnight friends. Get some rest. open.substack.com/pub/yourloca...

It matters when it affects them

And they're beautiful

While governmental agencies, generally speaking, should not be run like businesses - absolutely no government or governmental agencies should be run like one of Trump's businesses.

My ability to remain calm or maintain focus is tested daily while I move thru the chaos of this world. I know HurtPeople hurt people and there are those who just want to see the world burn, but the sheer scale of this? *sigh

Law of unintended consequences: why pay money to keep your data off the dark web or for identity protection services when DOGE just pulls it from the Fed Agencies and passes it around to the highest bidder? Elon ruining businesses that aren't even his.

I will celebrate good news when I find it - news.northwestern.edu/stories/2025...

Last night I dreamed about the day in my college senior Strategic Mgmt class when the prof described when a bureaucracy is the most efficient structure for a business. That was when I stopped seeing them as inherently negative. Governments SHOULD be Bureaucracies. How to get other folks to see that?

So Fucking Much THIS

And can I just type something out loud because I need to say it?

i'm tired of heteps tryna tell me what to feel

I have Maya Rudolph as Dionne Warwick expressing "Show me the receeps! Why would Xi Jinping want to flood my basement and rust my bowflex? To what end? 🎵 TO WHAT END 🎶?" on repeat in my head.

Oh, that's a good idea - let's start with that

yeah but 113 years would actually be more than a century - wait a minute
