The Saudi govt led the way murdering a journalist who would reveal their crimes and evil. Israel realised they could murder journalists en masse without any pushback. Other govts have realised no govt in the west cares.

Why not put that $1b into directly funding longer maternity and paternity leave or stay at home parents rather than forcing parents back to work and having strangers raise their children. Funding parents for longer and to raise their own children would provide for much better societal outcomes
