Registration to vote abroad in the second round of the Polish presidential election closes today. Interestingly, when trying to register, middle name is not a required field, but if you don’t add it, the system won’t register you. #polishelection #gazetawyborcza #okopress

Russia used manipulated images to justify the invasion of Ukraine. A new study reveals a 9,000% increase in posts and 5,000% surge in manipulated images from Russian milbloggers in the 2 weeks before the invasion. How #AI tools and humans team up to analyze social media content:

I think we wouldn’t have this fucking mess if Obama didn’t bail the banks in 2008. The financial system is in private hands and does very little for the wellbeing of the society. It created an even more unequal system fueled by the middle class debt with a cherry on top for the rich. #obama #economy

From "R.U.R." to "The Matrix," pop culture has long stoked fears about #AI. An English professor wonders if the more immediate risks are posed by those developing and deploying it, not the technology itself: buff.ly/DkTm4dm Billy J. Stratton @uofdenver.bsky.social

This is huge

Several groups representing “startup nations” are drafting legislation to create “freedom cities” in the US that would be free from certain federal laws, WIRED has learned. They say they've met with the Trump administration about the idea and that the administration has been very receptive.

As a New Yorker, I just called Senator Gillibrand's office to demand she defend all of our civil rights by fighting for Mahmoud Khalil. I called Schumer's office, too, but they're not taking messages over the weekend. Will call in the morning. Find your reps here: reps.fyi #DidThisToday

How the fuck did we allow global defense system to be solely dependent on one human?

We know people support individuals not movements. We need a face for the alternative and a great media campaign. Someone who doesn’t oppose Trump’s high level points, i. e. drain the swamp, but disagrees on the methodology and can grab the attention of non-voters and disillusioned Rs.

I cracked myself up imagining a scenario where the citizenship of @mcuban.bsky.social is being questioned b/c of his last name.

Great piece on Google SE. I feel it’s basically become a good shopping engine (I’ve ditched Google). Now imagine they start feeding the AI results back into the algorithm b/c “X% users found it useful” I think we’re witnessing a great Internet split. #google #ai #internet #tech archive.ph/hoRu6

Many have noted that the amount of work required to come back from letting this man or anyone affiliated back into power is going to be just staggering. We're looking at decades of work, if they are not meaningfully stopped, very very soon. Maybe this'll get some people to really understand that.

As much as everyone is pissed at Dems, they know the only way to win is to stick with the rules of the democratic game and not play the new game — by Don’s rules. They’re like: nope, thanks, we still like the old game and the old rules and values still apply. They need to go preach it directly to Rs
