Starmer is far more exciting on foreign policy than domestic policy? What's the stumbling block back home? Ability to spend?

The preservation of the NHS is something voters support. I wonder if the NHS could use a marketing campaign along the lines of "play your part in protecting the NHS" to encourage healthy lifestyles?

Labour are backtracking on a plan to help save birds: by blocking a new rule that would make developers put a £35 nest brick in every new home. They think it'll help win them votes - we need to show it would do the opposite. Sign the petition 38d.gs/ky2i

Worcester is a small city that could be easily served by bikes and buses. Instead it feels more car dominated than Birmingham. The narrow Victorian streets full of 4x4 pickups and SUVs. Erosion of the charm that it needs for tourism.

The media knew this but chose not to educate the public. However they were not listening to LBC weekdays at 10am :)

If you're at #RapidEvaluation conference be good to catch up

It’s astonishing how much noise just one car makes And following on in that vain in terms of safety when just one car turns up, you’re aware that your safety has changed from safe to possibly fatal That’s the difference that just one car makes it is why we need nationwide car free routes

My MP 🙄 rarely hits the news headlines for anything positive. I'm waiting for a reply to FIVE emails so it's hard to believe he's got enough admin 😉 www.bbc.com/news/article...

The UK road network after 7pm, is essentially a free at the point of use race track for incredibly fast and large vehicles driven by incredibly stupid people. Government, national and local, are doing next to nothing to prevent this.

I recently met with a group of residents in Bournville, who are tackling road danger and making it easier for cyclists and pedestrians to get around. The discussion was very constructive and I look forward to working with them to make Selly Oak a safer and easier place to get around on two wheels.

Look at this carnage on our roads. The life years lost is horrendous. The perpetrators will not have intended to kill these people, but it's the result of societal indifference to the danger posed by motor vehicles. Ultimately because governments refuse to address road safety.

"Wales’s 20mph speed limit has cut road deaths. Why is there still even a debate?" - really nice to see our motonormativity research being used to explain this. Cheers, @peterwalker99.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

UK dentistry process: Register a patient and quickly provide a check up Cancel subsequent NHS appointments for treatment on the day Miraculously, the dentist who couldn't make previous NHS appointments due to "personal reasons" can see you next week privately This needs resolving quickly.

Starmer's language is unnecessary. He'll know better than me whether his actions are effective. He appears to be increasing his own accountability and skin in the game. But mimicking the right wing lexicon is a complete turn-off. We need respectul and compassionate language from leaders

"MPs on the left of the party have called for wealth taxes rather than welfare cuts, but that is a non-starter with the chancellor." When wealth taxes instead of welfare cuts are a non starter, there's not really a "left of the party." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Do you have a favourite *independent* shop? Whether it's bricks and mortar, or online, TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THEM. Avoid chain stores whenever reasonably possible, and buy from independent traders instead.

It's a shame Kier Starmer wasn't as pragmatic with Lou Haigh as he's being with Rachel Reeves when considering historical events.

For those arguing LTNs and bike lanes are a threat to road safety, you're completely letting the decision makers off the hook. Demand safer streets, even if that means you may not be able to drive the most direct route.

If malicious actors hadn’t already identified heavy electric trucks with staggering acceleration capabilities as a tool in the arsenal, they certainly have now

Dear @theguardian.com reports suggest it was the human behind the steering wheel and accelerator who had taken the decision to run into the crowd

Demand for public transport is sensitive to low income, frequent users. Demand for fuel on the other hand is relatively inelastic. Bus fare increases hit the poorest hardest and likely to reduce demand www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Also applies to drinking my coffee and eating my doughnut outside a bakery that fronts a road

Why does UK build dual carriageways, and allow parking in two of the lanes? If the capacity isn't required, why not just build 2 lanes with parking?
