Latest generation almost ready to leave the nest. They've been nesting here for the last 25 years. Soon be having flying lessons around the garage.

Found this written inside the collar of one of my shirts and I'm so glad someone at the shirt company thought to put it there. All this time I've been stupidly enjoying life as it was yesterday and hadn't even thought about this as an option.

'Mon the bugs.

Royal Oak, North Heath. Gay people, you know what to do.

Years ago I got into a disagreement with someone in the comments section under a Guardian article and their parting blow to me was: "And you just happened to have these replies all thought out." I still think about that most days.

Petted a shaggy golden retriever at the park earlier and asked the owner whether she was going to put a paddling pool out for him in the hot weather. “We’ve tried. He won’t get in it. Not even if we chuck ham in.”

Comedy has a long, long tail.

If you think deeply about what the sun is, it's weird that curtains are enough to stop it

Imagine how mad it must be for a horse the first time it goes for a ride in its box, being dragged by a car down the motorway at 60mph. Looking out their little window having no control over which service station they’re going to stop at but praying that it’s one with a WHSmith.

Just saw someone on here remarking about the funniest thing they’ve ever read, and I was wondering what that would be for me. I mean it was *probably* a sarcastic WhatsApp message I received, or something, but in terms of publically available documents, perhaps this? clickhole.com/amazing-chec...

Just saw a goldfinch in our garden for the first time. At first I thought it was just a very flamboyant sparrow, but no: definite goldfinch.

We've been re-watching The Haunting of Hill House and no spoilers here but that Bent-Neck Lady episode remains one of the best things I've seen Netflix do.

What’s your sign?

All I'm asking is for the Magnum people and the Jaffa Cakes people to sit down around a table together and give us all the summer colab we need.

FIFA are about to release a statement like 'The Club World Cup is going amazingly so far, averaging 5 goals per game!'

FIFA Club World Cup making the UEFA Nations League look meaningful.

Evening!...

Such a fun time at the Borders Book Festival today and I did an hour on stage for the first time in my life (wonderfully aided by Dotty Sutton, as always). Here's a pic of our little corner of the festival. 😍

Denholm Elliott is the only actor named after what ET would say if he was asked what jeans were made of.

Does this mean I could go into Poundland and buy Poundland? And if so, could I go into the Poundland I'd just bought and buy another Poundland? And buy another Poundland from inside that one? And another Poundland from inside that one?

Just finished watching The Four Seasons on Netflix and it was very good but I can't help but wonder if there's a group of middle-aged friends anywhere in the world that would actually manage to go on four trips a year together.

I told you we’d be back

You know how the original Jurassic Park dinosaurs were created with the help of frog DNA? Well I want a scene in a future sequel where a lake filled with gigantic, monstrous tadpoles is discovered.

Whole decade ago or not, I still think about Ed Miliband saying "Am I tough enuss? Hell yes, I'm tough enough" every single time I hear the phrase "tough enough".

So excited to be able to say that THE NOTWITCHES: PRISON BREAK will be in book shops across the UK from 14th August and is available to pre-order NOW. It's a tale of witch-hunters, wombats and wrestling moves, and I can't wait to share it. All the pre-order links are here: garypanton.co.uk/books/

"call me back"

Been playing around with editing some video content and ended up getting sidetracked and making myself this glorious St Johnstone FC montage which I'm very pleased with if I do say so myself.

Me and Dotty are doing our first ever book festival on Saturday and we'd love to have you and your kids there if you're anywhere near the the borders! We're on at 2.15pm and you can find all the ticket details here: tikt.link/notwitch

People who set up gardens and then don't want any wildlife or nature to come into them are the very oddest people.
