Republican attempt to overturn NC Supreme Court election show the direction of the party to disenfranchise voters at first and eventually eliminate elections altogether. Combined with the attempted 2020 overthrow, et al, the push towards a Chinese type authoritarian regime seems clear.

When Trump wasn't held responsible for publicly attempting to overthrow the 2020 election, fake electors, election interference, blanket immunity for "official acts" , etc. the country became some type of Banana Republic. Now we're in an on-going clown show where just about anything can happen.

Trump has bullied/bribed the Republican Congress to hand over power effectively creating two branches of gov. His next goal is to do the same to holdouts in the judiciary (SCOTUS he already has). "Judge Dugan was arrested by the FBI for allegedly helping an undocumented migrant “evade arrest”."
