Did Nair lose a finger when he caught Root? It looked like the tip of his finger went flying off.

No mention of the wonderful allatseafanzine.bsky.social (or the much missed Roots Hall Roar) but a good read nonetheless.

Embarrassing from the Home Office.

The greatest sport in the world

@theguardian.com couple of corrections to your otherwise excellent piece 1. Maher missed out 3 times on Wembley as finals were played at Millennium Stadium but only 1 of them was a playoff final. The other 2 were Johnston Paint Trophy finals. 2. The club has sold over 28,000 tickets for tomorrow

Hi @seatunique.bsky.social are you the official ticket touts for tickets for the NL Playoff final at Wembley?

I’m currently top 10 this week in the Cricket Draft despite fielding only 10 players as Ben Sanderson isn’t playing AND having Caleb Jewell as vice captain instead of captain.

It's not news that the national league is run by cretins but this is right up there. The national stadium will be 2/3rd empty by design and fans of both clubs are scrambling for tickets.

As Wembley prepares to host the EFL, Southend & Oldham are faced with the prospect of a drastically reduced capacity for the NL's showpiece decider, leaving 20k+ fans uncertain if they'll be able to attend. We hope common sense will prevail... #SUFCexiles chng.it/JBp9W45gPs

@mjslater.bsky.social presumably the German authorities made them play in a half empty ground with half of them locked outside or is that just Brent Council who does that?

Absolutely crazy situation that the NL playoff final will be played in a less than half full stadium when demand is twice that.

That’s why we go to football. What a night.

NEW with @simonkuper.bsky.social: The prevailing narrative around increased injuries and player workload in elite football is wrong. Players don’t play any more football than in the past. What has changed is a sharp rise in intensity of play. Not more minutes, but each minute exerts more load.

This is the level of stats analysis we are missing in cricket

1,755 Southend United fans went to Gateshead to see a 0-0 draw. And it was wonderful.

Wow. That’s certainly an interesting decision.
