OTD in 1997 Russia & NATO signed the “Founding act on mutual relations, cooperation and security” in which we promised not to use force on anyone & respect borders. Lol It makes no mention of any promise by NATO not to admit new members. Odd, given it’s so very important to us.

I think that the assessment is accurate. Trump's isolationism and refusal to provide additional aid or even sell weapons, while offering concessions to Putin have reinforced Putin's belief that he's on the right path. Rather than hastening the war's end, Trump prolonged it.

It will be interesting to see if there is a change in crime statistics after these cuts. It's worth noting that after spiking in 2020 & 2021 violent crimes & drug overdoses have been trending downward.
