Quick reaction to UK's Foreign Sec suggestion that recognition of Palestine won't affect things on the ground: Hard to argue it will make them worse. It will afirm Palestinian right to sovereignty (and therefore highlight Israel's many ways of infringing it), + might also lead to more recognitions.

This is a very interesting recognition statement. For a start, it is very elaborate. I also note the suggestion that being recognised by half of UN members is a sign of statehood, and that #Kosovo statehood has 'crystalised', whcih suggests the question is done and dusted.
