it is funny how many people affiliated with the secret police have had to say "stop making fun of the secret police, the guy in the tac vest that covers him like a training bra is a hero, he tracked down and subdued two hospice orderlies using only the W-2 forms they file annually"

"Trump himself was the victim of two assassination attempts. But his opponents did not minimize, justify, or celebrate these attacks. Trump has signaled again and again that violence in his name or for causes he supports is welcome."

This is one of many ways the trans rights and disability rights are linked: “Having to take medicine for the rest of your life” is not something to avoid at all costs, it’s something that comes for us all eventually as we get older. Disabled rights are your rights, trans rights are your rights

if you are cis or able-bodied, you should support trans and disability rights on principle. but also. “able” and “cis” are not stamps on your soul that will never change. anybody can become disabled. anybody can wake up one morning age 40 and realize they’re trans

I need y'all to understand what the NYT, Dem donors, and centrists are doing here. They're pushing the narrative that trans people went too far and we deserve what is happening to us. It's pure victim blaming and it's not done yet, there's a Confessore piece in the works with the same framing.

The NYT decided to kick trans people in the teeth the day after Skrmetti. They wrote a hit piece blaming trans people for their own oppression and attacked the people who have fought hardest to stop this effort to eradicate us. They turned to Brianna Wu to further their narrative.

"The fact is, for all the talk about rejecting 'globalists,' the experience of the Trump administration is one of intervening, repeatedly, in global affairs. There is no Fortress America possible in the 21st century."

Uh, can we get it on the list? @snackytuna.bsky.social @cinephobe.bsky.social @talkhoops.bsky.social @cornpuzzle.bsky.social

“What is the draw anymore if the mission is rooted in who the president is and your job can be taken without warning or process?” the Labor attorney asked. “Who in their right mind will ever take a gamble on a government job again?”

Collins: "What did [Mike Lee] have to say?" Sen. Tina Smith: "Honestly, I don't think this is a person who is used to being confronted. I don't think he's someone who is used to being challenged and I think he didn't quite know what to do."

I wrote about how the 2020 protests hurt Trump politically. I also wrote about how counternarratives about left-wing violence are just spin — and wildly at odds with the reality of extremist violence. Gift link: wapo.st/3SOEv6e

YOU VOTED TO CONFIRM HER. This is just as much on you as anyone.

Elissa Slotkin is scared now AND is one of seven Democratic senators who voted to confirm DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. The other six: Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.), Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.).

Jamie’s @glitterburrito.bsky.social asking “how do we create when we’re being called to show up for our community?” She has a great message for creators while we cycle from one hellscape to another. horrormovieblog.com/welcome-to-c...

Alex Padilla, a US Senator getting dragged out of Kristi Noem's press conference for asking questions. This is not America.

SHE DOESN’T EVEN GO HERE

Uh, @edsbs.bsky.social these are the socks you should wear on Mt. Everest. They even work with sandals @homefield.bsky.social

This is going on *RIGHT NOW* in Spokane. SPD has declared an unlawful assembly and multiple people have been arrested. Police are preparing to teargas peaceful protesters. I need answers from @mayorspokane.bsky.social and SPD about why they unnecessarily escalated this situation and supported ICE.

Video shared from a protestor shows a wider angle of protestors and our reporter getting pushed back by purported law enforcement agents at the ICE office in #spokane

It’s so funny to do the “I’m a MAN I don’t know THEATER” thing when you’re part of a party apparatus dedicated to servicing a god-king who is the biggest Broadway gossip north of 42nd street

Sorry but this is total LARP, 0.00% chance the guy who went to Yale Law and converted to Catholicism because he thought they were right on the issues has never heard of Les Mis

Look who's paying people to come to his birthday party

Genetic material shed by tumors can be detected in the bloodstream three years before cancer diagnosis, according to a study led by investigators at Johns Hopkins University. That study was made possible with federal funding. Now, many studies like this are canceled. hub.jhu.edu/2025/06/04/...

There is a line from a letter my grandfather wrote my grandmother in 1945 that plays on a loop in my head. I wrote about it and about him, about the hellscape we’re in, and about trying to be hopeful. thewilderthings.substack.com/p/from-a-met...

the word "constitution" does not appear in this article nor does any indication that the Trump regime's actions might be illegal it does however note "White House officials maintain that the president is ... standing up for 'law and order' as Democrats go soft on violent agitators."

Trump world figures like Noem and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller have spent years telling followers that the world around them was a horrifying hellhole. Now the pressure is to conform the kind-of-okay country to the insane narrative.

This is the best description I’ve ever read, in that it matches both the experience and the psychic hangover

I’m hooting and hollering: “Zohran is proud not to have the experience of defunding the MTA, cutting Medicaid, empowering Republicans and resigning in disgrace after being credibly accused of serial sexual harassment,” Mamdani campaign spokesperson Andrew Epstein said about Cuomo’s comments.

"It was probably not the reception the president was hoping for with his debut at the cultural center he took over and now chairs — half full, half booing, and with a strong contingent of drag queens." www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

It is amazing how devoted these people are to making life notably shitter for everyone. There is no benefit, no hidden bonus to the Trump administration. Everyone's life just gets more shit as they break everything.

all stick, no carrot, all day every day. even the south african “refugees” the admin made a big show of admitting are getting the business end of the stick.

Please pray for my childhood crush, she’s dumber than a brick

This is not a man defending the rule of law. This is a man continuing the project he began in his first term and tried to complete on January 6th: replacing the rule of law with himself.

all ball

MAGA is essentially defined by its ideological incoherence. These people share very few common beliefs. But you can broadly categorize every action Trump 2.0 has taken as anti-civilizational. Not a single pro-human policy in the whole program.

i've been trying to see what the right wing platforms (even outside of X) are showing people regarding the protests in LA and i am not sure it can be overstated just how much the AI slop is being used to reinforce the idea that downtown is a post-apocalyptic war zone

Everyone I knew who covered disinformation got laid off, their bosses got bullied into firing them, or they changed their beats from actual Nazi harassment campaigns. It cannot be stressed the damage the paid-for Substack “free speech” guys did in the service of fascism and against real free speech.

Indiana Pacers

Pacers royalty. Miller and Haliburton. This is so freaking dope. Reggie getting a photo of his kids w/ Tyrese 💙💛

Listened to All Fantasy Everything Disney song draft probably 50 times. Easily my favorite one. Tonight, for the first time, I completely burst out crying when @katienolan.bsky.social started to sing "Colors of the Wind." I'm 45. Well, @edsbs.bsky.social , I laughed so hard that I slipped off the couch, hit the coffee table stomach-first, burped, and lost dinner.
