The Trump budget in one chart: Cut programs that help families and make America a leader of the world, pour money into kidnapping grad students and deporting toddlers.

Allow me to address the elephant in the room: The decades-long outsourcing of domestic manufacturing to China was not an insidious Chinese conspiracy for dominance but the greedy strategy of the American ruling class to explode its profit margins by exploiting global inequality.

Page One must have been crowded. So NYT puts it on Page 13. 🤡 @schooley.bsky.social

This proves that I am my own natural disaster.

Tribune Tulips. Yesterday on Chicago's Magnificent Mile in front of Tribune Tower.

Let's talk about mine safety real quick. There have been 12 mine fatalities so far in 2025. In the same period in 2024, there were 5. So while the administration is making cuts at MSHA and delaying the implementation of the much-needed silica rule, the number of miners dying has more than doubled.

Number of US gas stations currently selling at $1.98: zero. 🤡 www.gasbuddy.com

Despite promises of cuts from Trump and Elon, the U.S. spent about $220 billion more in the first 100 days than it did last year. We’re spending far more and getting far less. So where is all the money going?

This isn’t fiscal responsibility, it’s moral failure.

We are like a matter of days, or at most, weeks, from empty shelves. America is not ready for how badly that asshole has fucked up our economy.

This is what a rigged economy looks like: In the 1970s, CEOs made 27 times more than the average worker. In the 1980s, CEOs made 48 times more than the average worker. This decade, CEOs are making 354 times more than the average worker. That has got to change.

Somewhat ironic that the least qualified, most unfit and incompetent Sec of Defense in American history is the one who abolished DEI.

As we resist Trump’s tyranny, America gains solidarity. As we gain solidarity, we feel more courageous. As we feel courageous and stand up to Trump, we weaken him and his regime. As we weaken Trump and his regime, we have less to fear.

Autism and suicide... the alarming rates no one's talking about #AutismAwarenessMonth

Now that the GOP has turned on the right to due process, what will they give up next? Right to remain silent? To a trial? Jury of your peers? Let's say you speak out against His Magasty and are lucky enough get a trial and not kidnapped to El Salvador. Are the jurors all Proud Boys?

Drugs take a toll

Still fuming about that press conference. The way RFK Jr. talks about autism is not just scientifically wrong—it’s deeply offensive. Calling autistic kids "damaged" or implying they’ve been "lost" or "stolen" doesn’t just spread misinformation—it dehumanizes real people.

They should be more concerned

The refusal to provide people due process before shipping them off to foreign prisons is criminal and intolerable. It must not be normalized. Everyone who believes in justice and America needs to speak up now.

For RFKjr to be in the position to be any kind of a decision maker for the healthcare for any human being is insanity. It's an ethical crime and a complete abdication of critical thinking.

This week it’s hard not to despair as we see everything we’ve lost. But public health has always been an act of faith. Faith that incremental changes can make vast differences in the future. So keep speaking up. Keep doing the work. We are the keepers of the seeds. And we will grow again. 💚

Who's getting rich off this engineered volatility?

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

I’m seeing a lot of posts about how certain immigrants sent to El Salvador are not actually criminals and this is true but I would also like to remind you that people with criminal records shouldn’t be subjected to this, either.

Utah is pretty awesome: one day, you can be shredding powder at Snowbird, and a day later hiking in the red rocks at Zion. Yes, the politics are hard, but nature keeps me here

I think it’s really good that people are protesting in their own states and cities because it shows that these protests are community driven. Americans can fix this authoritarian slide. They can fix it, but running for office in their own cities and towns. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Not only are we paying for his golf trips, we're paying him to golf!

This mega-prison is a mess. And there’s nothing like an Arkansas shady land deal!

Every year Putin has been allowed to exist was a mistake. There has always been a lot of "hot potato" that gets played in politics, where no one wants to deal with the hard stuff and would rather pass it on to someone else. Problems that are passed to others...get bigger. Always.

Thanks for speaking up,Tom blockclubchicago.org/2025/04/03/t...

So many billions. smh www.forbes.com/sites/chasew...

Wisconsin's Supreme Court race is now the most expensive court race in U.S. history — largely due to donations from out-of-state billionaires. As Justice Louis Brandeis said, we can have great wealth in the hands of a few, or we can have democracy, but we can't have both.

Pop quiz; how much did Donald Trump add to the national debt during his first term? Answer: Over $8 trillion.
