Test animation of a sword attack. More weapon types to come. Follow for more updates on @hawkstonegame.com by @badfidogames.com #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #pixelart #godotengine #godot #rpg #videogame #gamedevelopment #retro #pcgames #gamingcommunity #rpggame #hawkstonegame #badfidogames

Animation test for one of the characters in the game @hawkstonegame.com. Walking sequence accounts for walking up, down, left, right, and diagonally up and down. More animation sequences to go, obviously. Jumping, swords, magic etc... #indiegame #indiegamedev #indiedev #rpg #rpggames #gadotdev

Nice wolf. Good wolf. 🦴

I did a thing! Excited and can’t wait to release the first game to you all. Let’s go! #indiegames #indiedev #gadot #gadotdev #gadotengine #videogames #rpg

More concept art for @hawkstonegame.com , players will be able to enter dwellings, interact with NPCs to get info, find quests and items. Some houses will be bigger (hell, you may even find a castle) #indiegames #indiegamedevelopment #videogames #retrogames #rpggame #indiedev #godot #godotdev

My indie game now has a name. #hawkstonefame #indiegame #indiedev #indievideogame #godot #godotengine

I needed to include some pixel concept art for my game where there's lakes & bridges, other types of plant life, stairs etc. Also wanted to get a feel for what it might look like where scenes pan for a player. #indiegames #indiegamedevelopment #videogames #retrogames #rpggame #indiedev

Building a video game means concept art I make also has to include nature, not just houses and man-made (or elf, orc-made?) structures. So things like trees, rocks, tall grass, and brush. Hell, we even have wolves. #indiegames #indiegamedevelopment #videogames #retrogames #rpggame #indiedev

New post who dis? Been a minute! Been busy creating lots of pixel assets for the retro indie RPG video game I'm making. Here's the very first "concept" art. It's a top-down view, obviously. Here's some zombies and an orc approaching an unsuspecting adventurer. Do we like? #indiegame #retrogame

I realised pretty quickly while creating pixel assets for my game I’m making that I can only go so far with a mouse. So I got a drawing tablet. Nothing fancy. Just a no name brand and it works perfectly for what I need. The difference is huge. #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev #godot

May the 4th be with you! I've been working on pixel art assets for my own fantasy RPG 2D game im building. While I can't show you some of that work just yet, here's a little star wars tribute in my own pixel art style. Whatcha think? #maythe4th #starwars #starwarsfanart #pixelart

What's some good #indiegame blogs or sites (I know of the big ones like IGD and Kotaku #games #videogames #gamedeveloper

Never fully got Reddit before, but that's probably because I never found a topic I could really get into. But with having massive amounts of fun building games, NOW I get the Reddit thing. The game and game dev community there is huge, supportive and welcoming. #gamedevelopers #indiegames #games

There is a huge plethora of amazing indie games out there, shared on Reddit, that look and ought to be award-winning games in their own right. So, so, so many people are making some truly amazing work in their games. This is amazing. A lot of talent out there. #indiegames #gamedevelopers

An hour and a half of debugging why a specific font family wasnt applying to a personal website of mine. It was me. I picked the wrong font-family thinking it was the right one. Omg. 🤦🏻

Just started a YouTube channel for my indie game development journey. I'll be sharing the results video game building tutorials I'm following and eventually sharing my own indie game development here too. www.youtube.com/@glen_codes #indiegames #indiegamedevelopment #videogames #retrogames

We have combat! It’s not perfect, some bugs to wrinkle out, there’s no reaction to being hit (other than vanishing when dead) but it’s coming along! I’m going to put knowledge of this 2D pixel game development to good use when I do a real proper game #gamedeveloper #games #godot #retrogame

Next stage of my game tutorial learnings - Monsters programmed to give chase! This is before any combat system is implemented. When the player enters within a certain distance from this slime-goop thingy, it chases the player. Garghh C'MERE rargh.... lemme slime you #2Dgame #videogame #retrogame

Learnt about object collisions with this top-down 2D style game example. It's my hope once I've learnt all this, I'll make my own fully fledged RPG video game (artwork here isn't my own, its from the tutorial, but ill learn pixel art too) #rpggames #retrogames #gamedevelopment #gamedev #godot

Managed to create the up, down, left, right animation from this godot game engine tutorial. It's for a very short top down rpg style game. Retro look. Neat huh? #retrogames #retrogaming #gamedeveloper #gamedev #videogames

Sunday funday building a top down 2d rpg style video game for funsies, taken from a tutorial. Using the godot game engine. This should be fun. Love making these kind of #retrogames.

Every person who is still using Xitter should have a picture of that Nazi saluting son of a bitch who owns the platform posted up on the wall right in front of them as a reminder every day of what they're willing to ignore to keep using it. When you use his shit, you're supporting him.

Reflecting on what happened with Adobe and Bluesky. Adobe certainly has a lot to answer for in terms of expensive subscription pricing, their use of A.I, their reversal on DEI hiring policies, and much more. But did we do the right thing by doing what we did? Is this what Bluesky is?
