📣 NEW RESEARCH 📣 Did you know that using a car for over 50% of out-of-home activities lowers your life satisfaction? shorturl.at/s56Bh

Carry on using the right toilets. Labour's cruelty is stupid, uneforceable and unlawful. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

There's not a single crime in the history of the UK that would have been prevented by a bathroom bill. Not one Bathroom bills aren't about safety, they're about trying to exclude LGBT people from public life. That's it

My analysis of the EHRC "interim update" is out — in the form of an FAQ — laying out my thoughts on the state of the law, and how employers and service providers can best remain trans-inclusive. Just my academic thoughts, not legal advice, but hopefully of use. www.wearequeeraf.com/faq-ehrc-int...

@danabra.mov yo! Do you know if there’s any good tooling that’ll help visualise which modules have ended up as client vs server when using “use client”? We’ve been playing about with next for a static site and accidentally put a load of stuff in the client

This statement about the transphobic Supreme Court ruling by the UK's Crab Museum (yes a museum about crabs) is better than 99% of the statements I've seen on the topic www.crabmuseum.org/visit 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀

The ruling, as I understand it, did not say that trans women cannot use women's toilets as such. It said it is lawful to exclude us. Which sucks but the difference matters. If organisations discriminate against us it's a decision they are making, not something they've been forced into.

i hate that they've ruined both the sparkle emoji and the word "vibe" can't we have anything chill that doesn't get sacrificed at the altar of capitalism?

If you’re a Tesla owner who feels bad because you did business with a well-known skank, instead of asking strangers to feel empathy for the difficult position you put yourself in or having your famous friend ask strangers for you, think about what you can do to repair the damage you helped wrought

Step 1: draw a high level outline of what you want it to eventually look like Step 2: when making changes, try to make ones which move you closer to that vision & repeat

I (finally) wrote up my thoughts on "Founder Mode" and the Brian Chesky morality tale about how he turned around Airbnb company culture. This has made it into the Silicon Valley water table; it must be dealt with. There are some good nuggets within; let's dig them out. charity.wtf/2024/12/17/f...

"Take the courage to attack wathever code the team fear the most" is hands down the most underappriciated skill to have as a software engineer. Thanks @kentbeck.bsky.social yet one time again for this amazing book.

These new EU regs say if you sell, print or publish to EU countries & Northern Ireland YOU CANNOT after 13th Dec UNLESS you have an EU rep. This means all us indies. It’s a disaster. What should we do? We NEED some collective action to draw this to government attention.

🚨I'm seeing some climate accounts posting overpopulation stuff, so I've removed the paywall from my article on the subject: Overpopulation Is A Racist Trope.

this is the best thing I’ve read on what makes a good PR and how to get better at reviewing code

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
