Clear skies at last — and the galaxies are calling! The SeeStar S30 is powered up and ready to roam the cosmos. Tonight’s mission: dive deep into the galactic frontier and capture the faint glow of distant worlds. Let’s see what the universe reveals… #Astrophotography #Galaxies #ClearSkies

Bode’s Galaxy (M81), reprocessed with a cooler palette to bring out the dusty spiral arms and core structure. From gold blob to galactic gem—astroimaging therapy while the clouds refuse to budge. #astrophoto #M81 #BlueskySpace

Clouds rolled in last night like they own the sky—no stars, no photons, no imaging. Just me, my scope, and the sound of raindrops tapping the ground like Morse code. Might process old data or just stare at Stellarium in silent protest. #astrophotography #cloudyskies #nightslost

Just over 6 hours to go until our asteroid flyby! Track the #Lucy spacecraft live here: whereislucy.space ☄️🔭 and read about what to expect in the thread below

Behold M81—12 million light-years away in Ursa Major. Captured with 164 minutes of telescope exposures, then enhanced using a custom pseudo-Hubble palette to reveal teal spiral arms, a glowing golden core, and natural star fields. Real data, real detail. This is deep space. #astrophotography #space

Very interesting.

Another record that we don't want to achieve. The science is clear.

Every image starts with my own data—real photons, real sky time. Final versions are a mix of that data and AI simulation + enhancement. It’s a fusion of signal and imagination. #Astrophotography #AIEnhanced #DataDriven #DeepSky #TelescopeTime #SignalToArt #AmateurAstronomy

The Guardian's take on yesterday's launch.

Cooking up some fresh galaxy edits this week—teal, gold, and stardust vibes incoming! Stay tuned for a cosmic drop that blends real data with that pseudo-Hubble magic. Can’t wait to share! #Astrophotography #GalaxyEdit #SpaceArt #HubbleInspired #CosmicVibes #TealAndGold #DeepSkyEdits

My images begin with data I capture myself under real skies. Through image processing and simulated elements, I craft scenes that honor the science while embracing visual beauty—a synthesis of signal and story. #astrophotography #datafidelity #astroart

Mark your diaries, folks!

On 13 April 2029, the 375-metre asteroid Apophis will safely whizz by Earth, passing closer to the surface than satellites in geostationary orbit. The flyby of Apophis offers a truly unique opportunity to learn more about asteroids and how to protect Earth. www.esa.int/Space_Safety...

I’m diving into the history of astrophotography—from early Moon shots on glass plates to modern deep-sky captures from backyard rigs. A longform piece is in the works for all the amateur stargazers and photon hunters out there. Stay tuned! #AmateurAstro #Astrophotography #NightSky #DeepSkyImaging

Simulated HOO composite of M82, derived from my original RGB capture data. Hydrogen-alpha (red) and OIII (teal) structures mimic starburst-driven outflows observed in real narrowband data. Captured with Seestar S30 (EQ Mode) 164 mins total | 30s subs #Astrophotography #M82 #HOO #SeestarS30

Cropped details of Galaxy M81, as imaged from my suburban backyard with my #Seestar S30. #astrophotography #amateurastronomy #backyardastronomy

Might as well jump on the bandwagon 🙂 This is me as an action figure!

The Sunflower Galaxy imaged for 5.15 hours of 10 second sub exposures with my #Seestar S30 in equatorial mode. Image post processed to bring out the galaxy detail. #astrophotography #amateurastronomy #backyardastronomy

Tonight's waxing gibbous Moon 🌔 imaged with my #Seestar S30. #astrophotography #lunar #moon #lunarphotography #amateurastronomy #backyardastronomy

Spiral Galaxy NGC 2403 as imaged with my #Seestar S30 from my backgarden. It blows my mind that I can image something that is 8 million light years away! The negative image shows spiral arms in better detail. #astrophotography #backyardastronomy #amateurastronomy

The image on the left was a stacked jpeg edited in the #Seestar app. The image on the right is a stacked fits file processed in Graxpert and Siril. There's a noticeable difference. #astrophotography

M101 imaged for 6 hours of 30 second subs in EQ mode from my Bortle 5 backgarden with my #Seestar S30. I processed the stacked fits file from the app in Graxpert and Siril, with x2 upscaling. @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social #astrophotography #amateurastronomy #backyardastronomy #astronomy

M81 and M82 imaged for 164 minutes of 30 second sub-exposures in EQ mode from my suburban backgarden. Stacked in app and post processed by me. #astrophotography #astro #backyardastronomy #astronomy #amateurastronomy

Today's #Sun, imaged with my #Seestar S30. Some large sunspots visible. #solar #solarimaging #astronomy #backyardastronomy

Stacked jpeg of 395 minutes of 30 second exposures of M101 with my #SeestarS30 in equatorial mode. #astrophotography #astronomy #amateurastronomy #astro #backyardastronomy @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

Tonight's astronomy forecast. Let's go!!!!!!

Very impressed with EQ Mode for #Seestar. Image below of M101 is a stacked jpeg of 115 minutes of 30 second exposures. Will process FITS files later and see what other details are lurking in the data. #astrophotography #amateurastronomy #astronomy #backyardastronomy @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

I experiment with the #Seestar equatorial mode last night. Image below of M82 after 121 minutes of 30 second exposures. Very few dropped subs and zero field rotation. I'm looking forward to longer sub exposures of up to 60 seconds being made available in the app. #astrophotography #amateurastronomy
