Friendly reminder that if you use gen AI to make your stuff, YOU did not make it. You prompted it. A writer writes, an editor edits, an artist draws (etc). Gen AI is the antithesis of creativity. Like, you’re not a chef, you’re presenting a (stolen) microwave meal and want applause for it.

A funny thing on the Hancock Prospecting website is Gina Rinehart's bio bragging about her painting trucks pink to support women in mining. Then underneath there's photos of the executive team - 9 out of 9 of them are men. I think it's great they could smash through the pink trucks to succeed.

As an author, I'm routinely angered and saddened by how little authors are paid. For years of good work, we get scraps. But to see the Unbound authors earning modest to high amounts for their works -- then not being paid at all? It makes me feel insane. Like I've lost touch with reality.
