A day of sorting through many music books as I recover from a bug picked up at work. These sit in one of the “live” piles - books I am actively reading, processing, digesting, considering, engaging with.

In electing a serious and fearless progressive, the College of Cardinals looks like pretty much the only electorate in the world that hasn't had its brains boiled by far right propaganda & toxic social media. For a Catholic of my generation, this is an almost unbelievable development.

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work. The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty. I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the gov’t to rethink

The Edinburgh FluteFling is coming up 4-6th April, opening with a concert headlined by the award winning Hamish Napier. Workshops on Saturday and Sunday with Hamish, Kirsten Allstaff and Freya Rae are almost sold out. See www.Flutefling.scot for tickets and info. #edinburgh #flute

The system is rigged and it's about time we got comfortable shouting about it.

I made my first flute! Well, first solo flight start to finish. Pretty stoked about the results. The structure of a flutemaking apprenticeship is informal as you might guess. There’s no trade union or guild for flutemakers and so there are times when one has to make one’s own goals and structures.
