Maybe it's because I grew up in Milwaukee where there were prominent "old country" social clubs, Serb Hall, Bavarian Hall, Polonia, etc., but it seems super weird to expect Americans to not be proud of their ancestry.

What happened at Lake and Bloomington today may well be unrelated to immigration, but it’s a good illustration on why it’s bad to Gestapoize a branch of Federal law enforcement as well as not enforce any sort of non-militarized uniform requirements for all law enforcement.
