⚡️ Russia likely preparing major offensive in Ukraine despite peace efforts, FT reports. Russia seems to be preparing a significant offensive in Ukraine as it is moving troops toward key positions on the front, the Financial Times reported, citing Ukrainian intelligence officials.

Question from Kyiv to thousands of colleagues around the world: WHO BOMBED ME HERE LAST NIGHT? Surely, it could not have been the Russians! Ukraine, you said, was waging a proxy war for the US against Russia. But that is clearly over now. Whose drones were trying to kill us? @ipsa.org

Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports. A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

Fascinating line from Czech PM Petr Fiala on EU power dynamics. “I was always in peacetime against the strong role of France and Germany . . . but in such a difficult time, it’s important that the strongest countries are active and accept their own leadership.” www.ft.com/content/a5c2...

I decided to start a #thread 🧵 of stories about legal residents and tourists being (illegally) arrested, detained and/or deported by the Trump regime. I'll only post stories from serious sources, as rumors and conspiracies are really not needed in this authoritarian moment.

Trump has just started and I fear where it will end. When this is over, we will be judged for how we responded. So, I am disappointed at SNSPA (for proposing T for a Nobel prize) and at Columbia (for caving in to his demands). Universities should stand together, for liberty and academic freedom.

A truly vile decision, giving the lie to all Trump’s claims that he is horrified by the killing in Ukraine. Apparently he’s fine with the Russians doing the killing, but is determined to stop Ukraine striking back. Europe must wake up to how serious this is, not just for UA but for its own security.

The best way to predict Trump is to ask what would be best for Putin. Will the U.S. honor article 5? - Of course not Will American troops stay in Europe? - Only if Putin believes they can be used against NATO-countries. Will there be elections in the U.S? - Yes, but they will be rigged.
