Please sign this petition against the government’s cuts to Personal Independence Payment www.portsmouthlibdems.org.uk/cuttoofar

It’s rare to find a good article in the Telegraph these days but this one is well worth a read. apple.news/ATK6tPulLSn-...

God almighty. She’s cutting millions from disability benefits and harping on about ‘working people’. Do people who don’t or can’t work, do they not count? Children, retired people, ill or disabled people; are they not just as important? Are they not an equally valuable part of society? #ukpolitics

Why is this not being more widely reported today? Please repost. #Gaza #Starmer #Lammy www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social Cutting Personal Independence Payment for disabled people is the wrong policy. It’s cruel, it won’t fix the ‘problem’ it purports to solve and I’d go so far as to say it’s immoral. No Labour govt should be doing this. #disability www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Please repost if you want the full restoration of our EU Freedom of Movement, which was stolen from us by the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history, and was the worst curtailment of our liberty in 200 years.

Can we have a mobility scheme for the over-60’s as well please? Asking for a friend. “Reynolds suggests EU and UK have agreed youth mobility scheme with cap on numbers” — The Guardian.

Maybe my expectations of the @teamlabouruk.bsky.social government were too high because they continue to disappoint me. Acquiescing to UPF producers now I see. www.theguardian.com/society/ng-i...

Discworld QOTD, from Wyrd Sisters

God. The state of British politics. Labour chasing far right voters with vile rhetoric while cutting benefits from pensioners & disabled people. And the Tories flirting with climate catastrophe by rejecting the timetable to net zero. We’re hurtling to the abyss. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Spot on article from @iandunt.bsky.social as usual.

At this point, Starmer may as well just hand over the keys to Nr10. 🤯🙈😩

Can anyone tell me whether people who are already here in the care sector will stay on the 5-year path to ILR or will they too have to wait ten years? Because if it’s the latter then we’re going to see a massive exodus of the care workers who are here already. It’s so distressing.

Well. The shift to a ten-year wait for indefinite leave to remain will mean at least one of my wonderful carers will be looking elsewhere now. She’s going to be distraught when she finds out, having already worked towards the five-year target. I’m appalled.

Just one of the many policies for which @teamlabouruk.bsky.social have lost my vote. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Two things happen if you do this: 1. The immigration stats go down slightly. People who obsess all day every day about immigration do not notice or care. 2. Care homes are absolutely screwed because of staff shortages.

What could possibly go wrong? www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Today is a day to celebrate all heroes of WW2, and one of the greatest English heroes was Douglas Bader. Known all over Europe for his extraordinary bravery. This is what his family thinks of the fascistic creep Farage & his ilk. #NeverForget #NeverAgain

My god. They’re going to come back for more cuts to disability benefits in the autumn. Who the hell are these people? #disability #ukpolitics #benefitcuts @teamlabouruk.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Ffs @teamlabouruk.bsky.social Really? Whipping against an amendment designed to give birds a nesting place? Seriously? Stop being so damned timid, running scared of Reform voters! This is beyond ridiculous. Sort yourselves out; we ALL want a better environment! www.theguardian.com/environment/...

My dad was an RAF pilot instructor during the war, my mum helped build tanks for the army & stood fire warden duties in the Blitz. My Polish uncle fled the Russians & the Nazis & flew in the Battle of Britain. They would have heard the echoes of fascism in today’s rhetoric & been horrified. #VEDay
