Extremely bizarre exchange between Reps. Nadler + Goldman and the ICE Deputy Field Director Bill Joyce, where Joyce conceded immigrants held there sometimes spent multiple nights on the floors or on benches on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza. www.thecity.nyc/2025/06/18/i... via @THECITYNY

In a lengthy exchange, with ICE Deputy Field Director Bill Joyce, Reps Nadler and Goldman are denied the ability to visit the 10th floor. Joyce says it's not a detention facility it's just a place ppl are housed for several days w/out beds.

A day after Comptroller Brad Lander's arrest, Congress members Dan Goldman and Jerry Nadler at 26 Federal Plaza now attempting to visit ICE detention floor to see conditions there, they plan to visit immigration court also.

Lander says he's fine, lost a button in the scuffle earlier. "I will be fine but Edgardo will not be fine," he says of man taken by ICE when he was detained. Lander says he has not been charged at this point.

Lander emerging from Federal Plaza now, with Governor Hochul.

Lander is being release now from DHS/ICE custody now.

NY Governor Kathy Hochul inside 26 Federal Plaza now, seeking answers from DHS/ICE about the arrest of NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, who is still being detained. @thecity.nyc "How long is this going to take, I don't think he has a long rap sheet," Hochul says to agents.

UPDATE: DHS spokesperson is confirming NYC Comptroller Brad Lander has been arrested for "assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer."

Meanwhile upstairs is here are about 30 federal agents in hallway of 12th floor, most agents I've seen in one place on any given day thus far.

Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, another mayor candidate who has cross endorsed Lander, speaks to crowd.

Impromptu presser outside 26 Federal Plaza as elected officials gather, calling for Lander's release.

NYC Comptroller and mayoral candiate Brad Lander was detained by federal agents inside 26 Federal Plaza moments ago, as he tried to escort a man from a court hearing. www.thecity.nyc/2025/06/17/b...

Here's a longer video of Brad Lander's detention just now inside 26 Federal Plaza as he tried to walk a man out of immigration court, by masked federal agents.

Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

Comptroller Brad Lander back is in immigration court today at 26 Federal Plaza, where masked ICE agents have been making arrested all morning, as elevator opens on 12th floor someone is being arrested directly outside elevator.

John Chell is the most senior uniformed officer in the NYPD. He recently played a round of golf with Donald Trump, and makes regular appearances on right wing news channels. @gwynnefitz.bsky.social, @yoavgonen.bsky.social and Harry Siegel obtained his disciplinary record, which is ... checkered.
