Cars aren’t just destroying the environment and making our cities unlivable, they’re also destroying your financial well-being: youtu.be/EYei1daW7Es?... We desperately need more affordable homes in places that prioritize car-free living.

Outdated building codes failing to keep up with modern safety features — a classic! (The two-stairwell rule was enacted before sprinklers, self-closing doors, and fire safe walls.) www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-...

This is a 100mph fastball Pete pulled to right with authority. I don’t even understand how this is possible.

youtu.be/iJVM-mkONiE?... Needs to be said. Now do a video about the joke of "economic activity” studies — where every $1 spent by some big organizer (e.g. NASCAR in Chicago) results in $10 of economic activity because it supposedly changes hands locally 10 times. @strongtowns.org

When you design residential streets to accommodate semi-trucks, people die. youtu.be/MQxZcFpb8kk?...

Ok I screwed up for LA and DC because of how their budget docs are written. This is now the fixed chart.

This feels special to me. I don’t know how else to say it. Lincoln Square is standing on the precipice of something great. I hope the right people realize it.

I have met more of my neighbors in the past 3 days than I have in the past 2 years of living in Lincoln Square and it's all thanks to a temporary road closure, some benches, and chalk. We need to get cars off our streets, ASAP.

Prediction: GPT-4.1 nano is eventually released as OpenAI’s first open-weights model. Its price/perf in the API makes so little sense, the only potential use-case I see is local/offline. Lots of room for disruption in the sub-24B param space (aka models that fit on consumer GPUs & SBCs) cc @t3.gg

Down with the nickel. Down with the dime. Quarters are plenty, it’s about time. ( Great vid @cgpgrey.bsky.social ) youtu.be/58SrtQNt4YE

"I can't imagine Phoenix not landing where we did, and my only regret is we didn't follow React sooner." Chris McCord's love letter to React remains one of our most insightful posts on component design 💫 🔗 ➡️ fly.io/blog/love-le...

If you’re creating truly novel things, AI is only useful as an input to that process. AI, fundamentally, can’t do novelty.

Congestion Pricing fixes traffic and makes transit safer.

Yo @t3.gg I think t3.chat could be a killer KMS with some minor changes to search. Some ideas: 1. A little preview of text matches as I type 2. Some kb shortcuts to select a matching convo (e.g. ctl+n & ctl+p to move selection down/up)
