On this day - Nakba day - Palestinians in Gaza are starving. Canada isn’t doing enough to stop this genocide. Minister Anand and Prime Minister Carney must: Demand an end to the blockade! Impose an arms embargo! Sanction Netanyahu and his ministers! Recognize the state of Palestine!

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

With the public hearings over the Grassy Mountain coal mine starting today, it’s important for Albertans to have their voices heard. Coal mining in our Rocky Mountains doesn’t make sense. It’s little economic benefit for significant environmental risk. cbc.ca/amp/1.7431333

Justin Trudeau wanted to blunt the stigma of his family name in Alberta. By the end, much of Canada reviled him at West-level intensity and in oil country, oof. By me: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

There is now a safe NDP seat in southern Alberta, in the middle of one of the most overwhelmingly conservative regions in Canada. Many said it could never be done. And now, the first Japanese-Canadian will take his seat in the #ableg. Congratulations, @robmiyashiro.bsky.social.

Completed my first 3d print project, a headphone stand for kiddo.

What I love about that six word Hemingway story, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn" is that in those few words we instantly grasp the sadness of what it is trying to tell us: the baby was so freakishly massive when it was born that it could never wear the shoes its parents had bought for it.

I believe the Earth is actually a custard filled globe, hardened by fire and caramel along the upper crust. Yes, I have founded the Flan Earth Society. I even wrote some stories about it. It's decent flan fiction.

One difference I'm noticing between bluesky and all other platforms is that many posts here contain text and no graphics. That has become such a rarity. It's nice to read words.

I think I might be an anarchist?
