Apple Legibility, 2025 (Pixels on screen) iOS 18 (Left), iOS 26 (Right)

Changing this accessibility option, makes a dramatic improve to "Liquid Glass", by basically turning it off. There's still some legibility issues, but such an improvement. #WWDC25 Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce Transparency

I'm left with the feeling today after #WWDC25 , that if "Liquid Glass" doesn't have some dramatic changes before final release – the 26 OSes are going to test how locked into the Apple ecosystem I am. I can't design in this noise.

Fixed it.

ARRGGHH MY EYES – what is this madness?! #WWDC25

Just tried tvOS 26 beta. The "Liquid Glass" effect is most noticeable on the player UI, and the refraction in the buttons are a little nausea inducing when it's fast-paced imagery with varied values and you look at them directly. I don't usually suffer from this.

Anyone else getting a subtle nauseous effect from looking at the refractions on here, or is this a me thing? If you look at the refractions (which are also reading way too high in the order), does it make you feel a little sea-sick. Please let the user adjust this effect!

Not gonna lie, not really liking Apple's "Liquid Glass" design language in the 26 OSes. It already feels dated in it's look, and has strong Windows Vista and Windows 7 vibes. Those corner rads are super soft too.

It seems some people don't understand the difference between The United Kingdom, Great Britain, and England. They are a union, a land mass, and a country, and shouldn't be conflated with each other – they are distinctly different things. Here's a handy illustration using files and folders.

Whenever I think of AI or an AI Assistant, I imagine it being etherial, device independent, omnipresent – science fiction has shown us this vision almost my entire life. I don't feel the need for an AI Assistant to be device bound.

Getting to work on this brand with @andrewhamilton.bsky.social & the folks at @bungie.net... what an unforgettable experience. So refreshing. I'll never forget when Joseph Cross & co showed us Marathon's unbelievable art style for the first time. #MarathonReveal

Today I was asked if we were using the correct CMYK colour (referencing the exact values) on a digital asset for screen. Sometimes it's best to just say "yes" and move on.

Fascinating video on Steam trends, especially these statistics- of all the games released in Steam in 2024, just 2.5% had the "LBGTQ+" tag and 7% had the "female protagonist" tag. This is supposedly the political trend that's overwhelming and destroying gaming. youtu.be/qiNv3qv-YbU?...

Very privileged to have contributed 25 years of creativity to this history, and play.

Does anyone else buy games on multiple platforms, or is it just me? I’ve purchased Skyrim 6 or 7 times, No Man’s Sky at least 3 times, Worms WMD and Balatro about 4 times. The above are also some of my favourite games of all time.

Not gonna lie, turns out I didn’t know what a 1st Assistant Director does on a movie until I started watching The Franchise on HBO.
