This reminds me of the days commuting between Hawick and Copshawholm when Scottish Border Council dug up the cattle-grids and set up the diversion for no obvious reason. And, to add insult to injury, there were never any cattle or sheep on the other side of the road for the cattle grid to keep in 🤔

10am tee-off in the first round of the Goswick Senior Championship this morning. What could possibly go wrong? #fore #golf #rain #wind 🙈💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🏌‍♂️⛳️

Off the top of my head there are at least 5 boys from Hawick buried at Brown's Copse Cemetery at Roeux near Arras. It is a cemetery which leaves me feeling very uncomfortable everytime I visit. 😕

On the genealogical trail today of James Hislop of Selkirk, Scotland. Born in 1878 and killed at Arras on 9 April 1917 with the 11th Royal Scots. Looks like he had prior TF service with the KOSB At the time of his death, he had 7 living children. Then seven fatherless children. #GreatWar #WW1 #FWW

1698 & my 7th G Grandfather built a sugar refinary in Goodmans fields, London. It cost over 3 million pounds (todays value). How can I find where he got the money from? #genealogy I need a London historian - where to look? #historian

So, for those killed and those whose voices are silenced: what more evidence do you need? Will you act now – decisively – to prevent genocide in Gaza and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law? This Council must prevail. Demand this ends.

On #InternationalNursesDay we remember all those women who served in medical and nursing roles during WW1, especially so far from home in Egypt, Salonika, Gallipoli, Palestine and Mesopotamia: awayfromthewesternfront.org/research/wom...
