I don't care if these monstrous ICE raids are a "federal operation". This is authoritarian violence, plain and simple. Just because Stephen Miller has kidnapping quotas for brown people he doesn't want to see on the street doesn't mean we have to think it's okay.

“Tasted a little tear gas— tasted like fascism”

Who knew? Seems that caving in to #ZionistMcCarthyism is bad for business.

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

As the federal government conducts chaotic immigration sweeps across the country, the state is deploying additional CHP to maintain safety on Los Angeles highways to keep the peace. It's not their job to assist in federal immigration enforcement.

America has to one of the only countries in the world that will try to turn a story about crippling medical debt into a feel-good story.

In most locations in Australia, planning rules require a minimum number of parking spaces for each dwelling, costing up to $50,000 per space, whether the occupants want them or not. Time to ditch minimum parking requirements. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06...

If anyone tries to tell you Ange is the worst manager we've ever had, give them this. Despite the injuries and lack of squad depth, he still ranks among the best of our managers who lasted more than 100 games. And he won us a European Trophy. Legend.

We’re at the “Then they came for the trade unionists” line of the poem

Australia must resist US bullying to increase its military spending – Allan Behm in @australia.theguardian.com "Setting an arbitrary percentage of GDP is no way to calculate budget priorities...Let us all hope that Albanese can maintain his poise & resist strident calls for military boosterism."

It’s crazy that the marketing wing of an Aussie gambling company runs a large platform dedicated to radicalising teen boys into the alt-right pipeline as a way to get the kids illegally gambling, and it doesn’t get any coverage in Aussie media

Nothing to see here, just big companies raising the prices of things for everyone, to help dilute the effects of tariffs on Americans. www.crikey.com.au/2025/06/03/d...

Premiers are squabbling for $$ because Aus is a low-tax country. While the WA GST deal is bad, the bigger prob is trying to have Euro-style services while collecting US-like tax revenues. SMH piece here, @australiainstitute.org.au explainer below www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...

Jesus, this is awful.

This is so well done #auspol

Spend 3.5% of GDP on defence? Bugger off. Australia already spends a huge amount on defence - The Australia Institute australiainstitute.org.au/post/austral...

Laura Tingle on the idea that there’s a “need” for gas to “speed up the transition” Tingle “This is all a little bit cute David” “I mean the PM was linking the NWS project with the Tomago Aluminium smelter (in NSW) this week” “NWS doesn’t provide any gas to the East Coast” youtu.be/0fYut3W4otA?...

The United States Court of International Trade "should have no role" in … international trade, is it? 🤔

Bourdain gets some lads to try a Khmer fish curry instead of a burger - war criminal.

No one ever talks about how the Titanic successfully crossed 80% of the Atlantic

Make no mistake. This is an extinction level event for American scientific dominance.

Gas companies are so desperate for applause for paying royalties. It’d be like Coles and Woolies expecting congratulations for paying farmers for the bananas they sell in their stores. Royalties are an input cost *NOT* a tax.

The Environment Minister Murray Watt will approve the 50-year extension of one of the world’s biggest fossil fuel projects, Woodside's North West Shelf. Along with releasing 4 billion tonnes of emissions, this decision will result in $215 billion worth of gas given away royalty-free. #auspol

Trump admits he's been helping Russia

NATO’s secretary general has said Russia is producing 3x more artillery rounds than the U.S. and Europe combined. Per Lucas Tomlinson, FOX News.

did i miss the cave? didn't he announce this like three days ago?

Yet another lesson in how "corporate social responsibility" is mostly BS. Corporations are in the business of making as much money as possible. They will do whatever they can to maximize their profits and share values, social responsibility be damned.

Fair to say the players seem to support Ange.

He missed the deadline to submit a single form 10 years ago, amidst family grief when his wife suffered a stillbirth. He did nothing illegal. Paid his taxes, completed citizenship documentation. But once you activate a police state, they don't care about individual circumstances.

Climate change is really, really bad for farmers

I don’t make make many economic forecasts but I’m going out on a limb for this one…I predict that there will be new investment in Australia even if we tweak tax concessions on super balances over $3 million…I think ive got this one :)

Get, and I say this sincerely, absolutely wrecked with this. Fully-comprehending populations have been marching in their millions about this whilst ABC has been a significant launderer of Israel's genocidal campaign
