Am I the only one who thinks, "If you elect me, I will tax the shit out of billionaires and spend the money on schools and health care" is a winning message? Like, say nothing else, just repeat that over and over.

A not-insignificant number of Americans like and want the authoritarianism, and nearly all America's super-wealthy support it. Constitutional reform that denies them their place on the "winning team" cannot happen without enormous violence that has no guarantee of resolving in democracy's favor.
