Honestly, it hurts my heart to know that there's so much fear and hatred in the world, that using immigrants, minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community as a boogeyman to stoke the flames of fascism actually worked. It's impossible to wrap my head around, because it just doesn't make any sense to me.
