Listen, every engineer needs to start parroting "AIs work best with highly patterned and organized codebases with detailed comments and close to 100% test coverage." Never let a good scam go to waste.

After 18 months of gestation, Godot and SwiftUI had a baby! Xogot is out now on the AppStore: blog.la-terminal.net/xogot-godot-... AppStore: apps.apple.com/us/app/xogot...

Just switched to an iPhone, an unexpected adjustment I had to make is to change the way I hold the phone so the faceID can fully see my face. Literally "holding my phone wrong" moment

just gotta say @firefox.com's new vertical tabs is awesome coz i havent seen it mentioned enough!

Been trying out "vibe coding" over eid break - in theory it could work if you're an experienced dev who can give good specific prompts to the LLM, verify if it generate the right answer and tweak as needed Problem is it leaves me with the most annoying chore of app development - manually testing

Not an anti-LLM person, in fact, I've been playing around with LLM coding assistants with occasional good results, but the ghibli style imagegen just rubs me wrong

Stop sharing the Ghibli AI slop, what is wrong with you: aftermath.site/studio-ghibli-...

Colocating tests is such an underrated Golang win ♥️

Just found Infuse, the best media player on iOS - which happens to also be the best Jellyfin client on the iPad

errGroups are probably my favourite Go package. errGroup makes it really easy to take a bunch of tasks and run them in parallel, making your program faster. They do this whilst keeping your code readable. Here's an example of one of my most common use-cases I asked chatGPT to generate.

requesting green profile

A thing I noticed about non-algo social fees: some power users can really take over your feed coz of how much more they post than the rest of your follows Would be nice if some 3rd party client can implement a way to rate-limt them to even them out

Even Confluence is sending out the whole year in review thingy at this point... Someone has really lost the plot

Spent the weekend trying out LLM for coding - for building UI specifically. One interesting find is that its so much easier to just use Tailwind than any UI/component library because LLMs has gotten so good at generating it

USD is getting expensive - spent the christmas break moving and consolidating my side project servers and hosts to a $5 linode VPS

Astro is.. kinda nice.. wonder what took me so long to give it a try

honestly thought the twt experience would get better post US election, but somehow it managed to feel even worse
