I recently heard someone say we've left the era of social media and find ourselves in the era of "interest media." This sounds like splitting hairs, but taking the word social out is helping me process a lot of thoughts I've been having about the current internet landscape

I will never say this out loud in Philly, but I actually like when people play soul music on the subway

I bet this is how the first person to do an ollie on their skateboard felt

It feels really gratifying to finally have my hands on one of these. Back before I even started selling vintage furniture it was one of the first pieces I learned to identify. It was the gateway to it all, like Chicken of the Woods is to mushroom hunting. #midcenturymodern #mcm

Hidden treasures

This is definitely in the top 10 of strangest pickup locations

Sometimes you encounter a real gem out in the middle of nowhere

I've been trying out a new strategy and dropping items off at auction instead of individually listing everything on Marketplace. It's great because I don't have to take pics, write copy, negotiate, or schedule pick ups. But, I did not account for the stress of prices staying low until the very end 😅

I just picked up the tiniest kitchen

Bringing a bunch of stuff to auction over the next 2 days

Getting my work out today! I'm running two full van loads from NJ to Philly and then ending the evening back in central New Jersey

Oh, hello...

When your NJ aunt asks you to house sit and says you can use their garage while they're gone 👀

I'm out walking and just overheard two people talking about the modern political landscape and they referred to it as the extinction burst of boomerism

Being back home has given me some time to work on fun projects

That feels good

Almost through getting everything unloaded

The final stretch

Here we go again

Pittsburgh makes a great entrance

The sun sets in the

The same way that foraging changed the way that I look at the forest, driving a big truck long distance changed the way that I look at roads

How many dining chairs does a person need?

The view from my last stop is actually kind of soothing

The weather wasn't the only hiccup today but it's been mostly smooth sailing even if I've only been sailing at about 35 mph

Another beautiful day in Chicago

It's strange to feel so familiar with a place I've never lived

Reading the @garyvee.com book Day Trading Attention during my flight to Chicago. I've had it for a minute but it's been hard to carve out the time to read with all the driving I've been doing. Very curious about the transition to interest based algorithms

Getting ready for my second work trip to Chicago. Off to a good start. The airport is empty compared to last time, and I assume it's because of all the snow. Getting through security took a third of the time it usually does.

Can't believe I finally scored one of these! I'm so unbelievably excited

I like that Google maps has basically turned into "I Spy"

Picked up a bunch of Danish chairs in the middle of nowhere and couldn't ask for a better view

Way out here

Visiting a typewriter repair shop may be one of the best errands I've ever run

Man, I am wrecked. My friends and I just moved furniture from a full tractor trailer into a truck heading down to Louisiana. We emptied most of it and even the driver was impressed with how we packed everything. I'm going to sleep well tonight!

I feel like I just dropped them off for adoption

That is a lot of Mid Century Modern chairs going to auction

I am definitely feeling this one today. I picked up an entire van load of furniture and had to load everything myself but fortunately I had help getting everything back out on the other end

I am starting to really haunt this place

That was a fun error my van made. @garyvee.com

I wish book publishers would do what record companies do and include a digital copy of the product when you buy the hard copy

I snagged another record cabinet and this one is so cool. It was built in East Germany, so having it repaired will be a trip. I couldn't say no to its history, or that fold out mini bar in the bottom!

It's not very often that you find a coffee table sized record cabinet

What the furniture feels like inside my van

Ziggy says it's naptime

This might be my favorite view from yesterday's route
