Every new day I am exclaiming "holy shit" at Clair Obscur's soundtrack

Airgrave, a Japan-only shoot-em-up with a storyline and four playable characters www.hardcoregaming101.net/airgrave/

JUNE-JULY OF JRPG BEGINS!! Join the HG101 gang as they discuss and rank Rhapsody, Nippon Ichi's RPG bursting with charming musical numbers. Then stick around for Maimai, Sega's rhythm touch screen arcade hit that they swear is not a washing machine! www.hardcoregaming101.net/podcasts/top...

We're at the stage where ChatGPT is actively encouraging its users to take copyrighted (translated) work, add their name to it, and submit it to specific magazines. It truly is an automated theft machine. www.timeextension.com/features/cha... (via @timeextension.com)

Old Skies, a time traveling point-and-click adventure from Wadjet Eye Games www.hardcoregaming101.net/old-skies/

The only thing I don't like about Clair Obscur is that it talks about its battle systems like a card game, which for some reason my dumb brain just can't process. This is almost all gibberish to me. I'm sure it'll make sense in practice...

Turns out this was ALL from Boris Vallejo, only pieced together from NINE(!) different paintings. (The hair and possibly the face from the woman in the center might have a different source.) #TracingTheInfluence samderboo.com/tracing.php?...

4 years ago I debuted the cover to the @hg101.bsky.social Beat ‘Em Up book vol 1! Buy it now if you ain’t already a.co/d/7ROZciG

Help! Several months ago I ripped MP3s off some CD and I've completely forgotten where these came from! It's probably some 90s Windows PC game (or some kind of compilation), here's one of the tracks. Can anyone identify it? www.youtube.com/watch?v=15Sf...

once again thinking about how the single greatest work of sci-fi ever made is that one DoDonPachi DaiOuJou drawing

Accidentally shared an elevator with Derek Jeter when attending Otakon, didn't realize it was him until some friends told me

Would also like to note that Bitmap Books is a solid, trustworthy publisher, they rule

Really making me question if my royalty statements were ever accurate, they always seemed really sloppy

Proud to announce that Yaku: Yūjō Dangi now has full English translation! I have been fortunate to work alongside the very talented whowasphone404 and Chapu to put together a patch for this classic kusoge game! youtu.be/Qm7e34FdXNE?... Download the patch here: romhackplaza.org/translations...

this is pretty wild, this game was a "phantom game" called "Navinosuke -The Yo-kai Buster-" that was in made 20 years ago but never officially released for GBA by SNK/Nazca former Metal Slug developer and it will be revived for nintendo switch in 2026 by KOHACHI STUDIO now! kohachistudio.com/yokai/

Clair Obscur has *66* battle themes, am I understanding this correctly

Aside from the cover, I also did write ups for a decent number of games in this so if you were like gee why is Rusty complaining about Beetlejuice on the NES and Small Soldiers on the GameBoy, here's why

I don't know if it ever got reassessed but I will always stick up for the 2009 Bionic Commando as a game with some substantial issues but a lot of it was forgivable because the swinging mechanics felt really really good

Ordered this absolutely gorgeous book on Japanese RPG’s from @bitmapbooks.com! The quality on this is gorgeous and I cannot wait to dive in. @dialacina.com does not miss with the recommendations!
