Again they don't believe in actual meritocracy. They believe in "racial meritocracy," ie if you're born into the right skin you're good and worthy and if you're not you're not. Racist predestination bsky.app/profile/atru...

This was the point in the @propublica.org story on pricey cancer drug Revlimid where i got angry. The price has gone up 26 TIMES since 2006. Yet, @davidarmstrongx.bsky.social found a deposition where a top exec admits the drug has ALWAYS cost just $.25 to make. www.propublica.org/article/revl...

Short thread (hopefully in plain English) on the nuclear deterrence dynamics in the India-Pakistan relationship and where this goes if escalation continues. <1>

Based on what I've seen credibly reported over the last 2-3 hours, it is fair to now call this a full-scale war.

"The Day After" was a television nightmare and scared the living you-know-what out of me and my siblings (I was in 9th grade) in 1983. I'm feeling like the current nuclear anxiety surrounding India and Pakistan could escalate pretty quickly.

“If you don’t let us violate the rights of the people we will violate even more rights”

Portillo's has now come to Texas! There are 3 locations in the entire state and all 3 are in the DFW area. I have never been to one but I am excited to try it. For Portillo's fans, what must I order?

Also a valid point. The Library of Congress is in the legislative, not executive, branch.

Reported by the @texastribune.org "...a college created to house programs to help teach 'principles of freedom.'" Ummm, yeah.... www.texastribune.org/2025/05/08/u...

We got us a Black American Pope, y’all.

Ben shows that if you've been paying taxes since NEH's founding in 1965, your total lifetime tax contributions to the only agency dedicated to funding the humanities in the United States could instead have covered a single tank of gas in your car. Ben was NEH's data scientist until last month.

OUTRAGEOUS. I had stage 3 ovarian cancer. Only 50% of patients survive 5 years. OC is most lethal gynecological malignancy. There are no screening tests. Except Harvard research led to CA-125 tumor marker test. It's the only way to see if chemo is working for *some* patients. It was key for me. 1/

New: Moderna’s combined Covid and flu mRNA shot outperformed the existing standalone vaccines in a phase 3 trial, per JAMA. But will the FDA — under Kennedy and Makary — allow it to move forward? www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Celebrating the last day of teaching with the most unhealthy options possible. But this is one of HEB's finer products.

Those are the only two sources for medical experts

A "direct inverse correlation" between fluoride exposure and low IQ" means the more fluoride you get, the higher your IQ. What he's looking for is a "direct correlation," but he doesn't know what any of these words mean or how science works.

"On one test, the hallucination rates of newer A.I. systems were as high as 79 percent."

A war on toys and Christmas. Now a war on weddings.

The next step in TX if SB 37 gets by the House is one Ombudsman appointed by the governor (plus a Rep. committee) who will approve tenure track job ads only in liberal arts & education, end degree programs, supervise content in syllabi for gen. ed courses and promote patriotic US history.

Trump, while asked during an interview with "Meet the Press" if he's required to uphold the Constitution as president replies, "I don't know" anntelnaes.substack.com/p/trump-is-n...

In just a few precise and exquisitely written sentences, the opening to this piece describes why we got Donald Trump and the end of democracy is nigh.

"More people testified against this bill in committee than testified for it and 72 percent of the written comments opposed it. So who are these people representing?” Answer: measles lovers. www.texastribune.org/2025/05/01/t...

They might as well just openly invoke the fluoride = Communism conspiracy and get it over with.

Puppets…

BIG brain drain in TX. The Chancellor of the University of Texas system, James B. Milliken, is leaving to become the President of the University of California system. Also note: the Univ. of TX Austin, Univ.of TX Dallas, and the Univ. of North Texas are searching for new presidents this year

‘Kennedy told reporters that there were "many, many good ways to treat measles and doctors need to know that and to know those methods.’ One problem; there is no treatment for measles. Signed, a doctor who’s been forced to deal with measles because of this stupid fraud.

The average American has three friends.

#Bloomscrolling Texas

F-ing insanity. TX now has 663 confirmed cases. My doctor decided to check my immunity to measles. Amazingly, I learned today, that it came back positive 50-something years later. Vaccines work.

Wow.
