One presumes "It's a nice day" and "You're very tall" were already taken, so she was stuck with "So this is it. We're all going to die."

"How can you be so obtuse?" "What did you call me?" "Obtuse! Is it deliberate?" I have to believe it is, in this case. There's no way she's legitimately missing the point so completely. Her base, on the other hand, may well be.

And now I'm imagining the Delightful Children from Down the Lane growing up to vote for Trump.

After my post on vaccinating my children when they were babies, I got asked to have ‘nuanced’ convos with antivaxxers. No. I’m not platforming lies that led to the drop in vaccines, sick children with lifelong impacts and dead children. Vaccines save lives and protect health. Period.

It's that cerebral humor that keeps me coming back.

W/alt my precious.

"...which can be uncomfortable, if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering."

Please. That'll just get him to *remove* the bulb.

Wasn't that the defense offered by a tobacco bigwig in a Truth ad? "One third of the people who use your product die." "Eventually, everyone dies."

Insert Nathan F. "...wait...what...nevermind" .gif here.

I mean, in fairness, they might well *buy* the book anyway. Whether they read it or not is of no concern to him.

Worth repeating: this is exactly, word for word, what was used to argue against being gay when I was a teenager. “Oh it’s so sad, it’s so dangerous” when the people making it sad and dangerous are the homophobes/now transphobes

I can only assume he meant "authorized". I'm not sure whether it's more surprising he's heard that word, or that he managed to confuse the two.

Damn.

Reminds me of the five reasons for drinking: Good friends; good cheer; or being dry; or lest we should be, by and by; or any other reason why.

To be fair, we have an electorate without memory.

Of course it doesn't understand "no". Its biggest enthusiasts don't grok "you can't use my stuff".

"Submitted for your approval..."

Sit. Freewrite. Stream of consciousness. Babble onto the screen. It's not like you're wasting paper. Whatever it takes to get things flowing. A bullshit engine that you have to curate the results of is not the answer.

Academics already know about this problem. They’ve seen imaginary articles and books by them listed in AI generated “reports.” The author’s names are real. The rest isn’t.

The Birds II: KFAFO

"From YOU, alright?! I learned it by watching YOU!"

Reminds me of Unseen University's library. Some books contained dangerous magic that could make fireworks go off in the air. Others had a far more dangerous kind, that could make fireworks go off in the mind.

"Really stupid and evil" manages to do a fucking lot of damage, thrashing about on mindless instinct.

Get your scattered, smothered, covered while your car's charging up. I did not have "Waffle House helping to fight emissions" on my bingo card.

I feel like most of my followers know this but because I see a lot of cis folks who have a specific blind spot for it: This includes the theme park. I don't care if you want Butterbeer or want to get a wand or are already there so why not just walk in. It's all Her. Everything with the name is Her.

With every "helpful" new feature added, there must be a clear, simple means of turning it off. I'd rather we not get auto-opted-in to begin with, but...

I'll grant one of the scenes in _The Last Starfighter_ was at least the same body-horror *sport* as Cronenberg, if not the same league (let alone ballpark).

“Decided at a senior staff level.” “Off-boarding will begin tonight.” I.e: Thrown overboard for the sharks. In the dark. (*Boy,* must somebody be pissed. I wonder who…) 😏

Go pup!

I'm sure we're all shocked, *shocked* to discover _gambling_ going on in here.

Don't worry. I'm sure she did her own research.

For years, people said "It's not the crime. It's the cover-up." And some appear to have taken that a bit too much to heart.
