"On October 8, 1931, a law went into effect requiring every Italian university professor to sign an oath pledging their loyalty to the government of Benito Mussolini. Out of over 1,200 professors in the country, only 12 refused. All of them were immediately fired." www.chronicle.com/article/what...

Does anyone know of a book about the beliefs of the common people during the Tudor period. #TudorEngland #Reformation #ReligiousBelieves #HistoryBooks #Spirituality #CommonPeople

I am not very organized with my #OnePlaceStudy at the moment. I am guided by the random pieces of information I find. I have found a book of the history of the next parish and I am rrying to note down anything referring to my parish before I have to return it to the library.

I want to recommend a very interesting book. 'Another Man's War' by Barnaby Phillips. The story of a Burma Boy in Britain's forgotten African army. Nigerians fighting for Britain in Burma. #BlackHistory #ForgottenArmy #Chindits #Burma #WorldWarII

Welcome to #OnePlaceWednesday! Last week nearly 50 people and organisations contributed over 120 posts on the fifth anniversary of our #OnePlaceStudies chat! No prizes are on offer today, but we hope many of you will continue to join in and post about everything OPS-related, with the hashtag!

#canal #narrowboat #salwarpe #droitwich #worcestershire #landscape #photography #NABO #ukcanals The Droitwich Canal at Salwarpe, back when the weather wasn't quite so drab!

I have started a #oneplacestudy of the parish of Salwarpe in Worcestershire. I have not registered it yet as I have just started. It is my first serious #localhistory project.

I have not worked out this place works yet. If there is any etiquette about who you should follow or unfollow.

I am looking for recomendations for new albums released this year. I like rock, folk, blues, some jazz and Americana.

Are other newbies as confused as I am? I was never on Twitter so cannot use that as a guide. I have joined someones starter pack so I am following lots but don't know who. I am waving not drowning.
