Speaking as just a normie local Dem guy, the incandescent fury in both the worker bees and the resist lib grandmas could be a clean power source for the entire planet if harnessed.

Thanks to DOGE: -NASA employees need multiple rounds of emails to buy basic materials -FDA food tests are delayed over approval for simple expenses -FAA staffers can't easily pay for air traffic control tower window washing DOGE is making government LESS efficient.

I think like half of all states have had an anti-chemtrail bill introduced this year, the rot is deep.

The current budget request proposes a 47% cut to NASA's science programs, and a 25% cut to the agency overall, the lowest level of NASA funding since 1961, upending decades of work. I urge you to sign @planetarysociety.bsky.social international petition here: tinyurl.com/sfeau5wx

Bill Gates was right: Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, coldly ordered the murder of several million desperate and poor Africans.

Just because Elon Musk is leaving—doesn’t mean this battle is over. DOGE has burrowed into every agency and has gotten even more aggressive over the last several weeks. Let me be clear: we will hold every one of them to account.

Just call it the Self-Inflicted Wound Era, when we took a bunch of stuff that was working largely fine (vaccines, weather monitoring, friendly relations with like 175 countries, cancer research, renewable energy credits, the FAA, global trade, etc etc) and just broke them for giggles

Remember the 2nd case like Abrego Garcia, involving the gay man deported to Mexico n/w/s having been terrorized and held for ransom there? Judge Murphy orders the US to bring him back. not facilitate, not effectuate, bring him back.

Yeah the thing is you can point to shitbags on the left all day long but the furthest left congresspeople are still mostly decent people and the furthest right congresspeople are wannabe genocidaires so the 'both sides' falls flat in practice

pure wickedness

"footy scran of the week" is my favorite part of tiktok.

There were no drones, and (I think) the government was nervous about telling the public that given the number of politicians who lost their minds to drone delusion. reason.com/2025/05/09/w...

the number of votes here is insane for the coverage it's gotten in English media

NPR has identified three Trump administration officials with close ties to antisemitic extremists, including a prominent Holocaust denier.

Turns out the Trump-Musk-Vought strategy of firing and terrorizing federal employees is bad.

Every member of Congress should follow @georgewhitesides.bsky.social 's lead. By divesting from all individual stocks, he's made it clear he works for his constituents—not personal profit. This is the kind of leadership we need to clean up Washington. #CA27

the new pope saw the broad street bullies in their prime. incredible

what is fascinating to me is the number of people whose “knowledge” of government appears to just be an accumulation of cliches and stereotypes + an inchoate sense that if something is big and costly then it must necessarily be “wasteful”

Interesting piece which reveals a lot of the tech bro ignorance of government: DOGEr comes in, expects to find lots of inefficiency, is at least willing to acknowledge he was wrong unlike the hard core ideologues.

Casar: "I've knocked on 1000s of doors and not a single time has someone said, 'Thank God you're here. I want to ask about trans people fencing'..what the hell are we doing? We are here bc MTG thinks if she picks on trans folks, she can avoid having a discussion about allegations of insider trading"

Most Americans frequently use federal science information. But few are concerned that cuts to federal science spending could affect their access to such information, a new poll finds.

I think a lot about what Carl Sagan said in one of his final interviews.
