BREAKING: We now need just a handful of House Republicans to sign our discharge petition protecting Medicaid and SNAP. If just a few House Republicans sign @congressmanboyle.bsky.social's petition, we can force a vote to protect working families from the Republican budget bill.

Republicans have fallen in line behind $300 billion in cuts to food assistance, taking food away from seniors living on fixed incomes and parents struggling to afford groceries for their children. Democrats are fighting back. Watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnGi...

“We should make food assistance work better for those it was designed to protect – like children and moms – not cut it so Republicans can fund more tax breaks for those at the very top.” democrats-agriculture.house.gov/news/documen...

America’s farmers navigate droughts, floods, and frosts. But this year the storm isn’t coming from the skies, it’s coming from Trump’s White House. Farmers – and all of us who rely on them – are paying the price. My @FoxNewsOpinion op-ed ⤵️ www.foxnews.com/opinion/from...

Republicans want to give billionaires the national credit card – and in order to do that, they are trying to cut $230 billion from SNAP. That will mean skyrocketing national debt, higher costs for the middle class and more Americans going hungry. It’s a disgrace.

According to data from USDA, 68% of SNAP recipients are children, elderly or disabled. Are Republicans recommending we revoke child labor laws now?

Cutting SNAP by $230 billion to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and large corporations will take food our farmers grow away from children, seniors and people with disabilities.

Starting a worldwide trade war will cost farmers and working families billions of dollars and destroy jobs. Nobody wins in a trade war. #Tariffs Read Ranking Member Craig’s full statement here: democrats-agriculture.house.gov/news/documen...

The Republicans will try to tell you that their budget proposal to cut SNAP and Medicaid will save us money. The reality is that it takes food from hungry kids, jeopardizes hundreds of thousands of jobs and weakens our supply chain - all while raising the debt.

The Admin's tariffs on steel and aluminum are hurting folks across the ag economy – including farmers who can their food. Yesterday, I spoke to the American Fruit and Vegetable Coalition about how we can work together to support American family farmers.

In Hadley proudly standing w/ local farmers fighting against Trump’s closure of local USDA offices & dismantling of programs that help farms. I said "Trump doesn't give a rat’s ass about farmers". I was being nice. We won’t let them screw farmers to give billionaires a tax cut!

Some farmers never fully recovered from the 2018-2019 trade war with China. Now, they’re dealing with tariff whiplash as the Administration lashes out at allies and rivals. Farmers need access to markets, not chaos and uncertainty. coloradotimesrecorder.com/2025/03/colo...

North Carolina has been devastated by natural disasters. And now, while family farms and local businesses are still rebuilding, the administration is cutting programs and firing USDA staff integral to the region’s recovery. www.citizen-times.com/story/news/l...

The House GOP budget cuts SNAP by $230 billion, threatening jobs in retail, transportation, manufacturing and farming. Food and agri-businesses are already cutting jobs due to funding cuts that have taken opportunities away from local farmers. www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...

Farm projects across the country are crumbling under the weight of the Trump administration’s USDA funding freeze. Congress appropriated these funds to invest in the farm country. Illegally withholding it is causing unnecessary harm. www.farmprogress.com/farm-policy/...

It’s one thing to say you love farmers. It’s another thing to pull the rug out from under them by defunding local food programs that connect small farmers with schools and food banks. How does this help farmers or our communities? www.dtnpf.com/agriculture/...

Ag Democrats sent a letter to Republican leaders opposing their $230 billion cut to SNAP, which would harm the farm economy and communities across the country. Read about it here: democrats-agriculture.house.gov/news/documen...

Curious about why tariffs and trade wars are bad for America’s family farmers? Watch this explainer video: www.nytimes.com/video/us/pol...

U.S. farmers are staring down steep losses through no fault of their own. The Administration is hell bent on cutting farm program funding and starting trade wars – and farmers are paying the price. www.nbcnews.com/politics/eco...

From freezes in federal support, to mass firings and chaos at the USDA, it’s not an easy time to be a farmer. I will ALWAYS show up and have the backs of our farmers. Happy National Ag Day!

From the timber in our homes to the fiber in our shirts to the food on our plate – there’s a lot to celebrate on National Agriculture Day. Thank you to the farmers and farm workers who keep our agricultural sector the envy of the world! #AgDay25

While Republicans try to convince you that cutting SNAP and shrinking the food economy saves money, the fact is fighting hunger is good for the economy. According to #FeedingTheEconomy2025, 47 million Americans work in food and ag. The GOP budget cuts these jobs. www.FeedingTheEconomy.com

If you ate today, thank a farmer. Today we’re celebrating #AgDay25 and the crucial role farmers play in feeding our nation and the world.

The Republican plan to gut Medicaid could devastate health care in rural America. Medicaid helps rural health clinics and critical access hospitals stay open. Slashing this funding will put care out of reach for folks across rural America. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

USDA grant suspensions are throwing farmers and food banks into chaos. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

Trump’s funding freeze isn’t helping farmers, it’s hurting them and the rural economy. www.reuters.com/world/us/far...

Shrinking the size of the food economy by $230 billion hurts rural America. We need to increase opportunities in farm country and grow the food economy, not cut it. newrepublic.com/article/1921...

USDA grant suspensions are throwing farmers and food banks into chaos. Less funding means more waste, fewer fresh foods for families, and higher costs. This isn’t saving money — it’s hurting people. minnesotareformer.com/2025/02/18/f...

Trump’s funding freeze isn’t helping farmers, it’s hurting them. Prices aren’t going down, but uncertainty is way up. Rural America deserves better than empty promises and broken systems. www.agriculture.com/pie-charts-e...

Bird flu continues to spread - and USDA lacks the staff to respond – thanks to Musk’s firings. That means fewer protections, more supply disruptions, and higher egg prices. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

USDA research cuts spell trouble for specialty crops. Less science, fewer solutions, and more struggles for farmers. Why is the Administration killing innovation when farmers need it most? www.farmprogress.com/farm-policy/...

House Republicans are prioritizing tax cuts for billionaires over the livelihoods of our nation’s family farmers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKzn...

USDA job cuts are hitting top ag states hard. Fewer helping hands means slower support for farmers, higher costs and more supply chain problems. This won’t lower grocery prices – it’ll raise them. www.kare11.com/article/news...

WATCH: Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social joins @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social to talk about how the Republican budget betrays American families: There is absolutely nothing in there whatsoever that will reduce costs for families. But what is there is $4.5T of tax cuts for the ultra-rich.

Good to see this. The freeze is causing a lot of harm to farmers as they finalize planting decisions and make plans for the year. Many of these programs are reimbursed, so farmers have to front the costs.

Today, House Agriculture leaders demanded answers from the USDA over the Trump administration's illegal federal funding freeze, which is already causing significant harm to America's farmers, foresters and rural communities. democrats-agriculture.house.gov/news/documen...

We should be supporting family farmers, lowering costs, creating jobs, and improving rural infrastructure. Instead, mega-donor Elon Musk is punching yet another hole in the rural economy by illegally stopping USAID food programs. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

"The uncertainty caused by Elon Musk’s attacks on USAID hurts the rural economy and damages the proud heritage of American farmers feeding the world." Read Ranking Member Angie Craig's statement on USAID here: democrats-agriculture.house.gov/news/documen...
