RCIL chair shared they don’t want more retail because we have existing businesses. Also pushed back on the height, density, encouraged housing at *another* location, woes of city infrastructure, impending traffic, how some people need to use cars… “I’m from New York”… yeah…

205 Holtzclaw massing concepts! Allen Morris rep has Atlanta City Design poster as background for virtual meeting 👏 Allen Morris, purchase and develop that AT&T site, please!! I asked for more housing, retail, & public private space activation.

Cool things we saw on a walk through Chamblee today: - the Oak Leaf Whisper Bench by artist Jim Gallucci at a MARTA bus stop - new-ish multifamily construction 😍 - Sidecar Coffee at the Chamblee Tap and Market Go, Chamblee!

The sticker game in the Boggs social bathroom has quickly become one of the strongest in town

great news everyone the zinnias are starting to pop off in the jungle

As Atlanta’s use of ebike & cargo bikes increases- know 12-14’ is preferred travel widths to accommodate them when headed in both directions, however 20’ recommended when high volume of bikers. Our narrower “multi-use paths” going in are largely insufficient.

Call me crazy, but the right leadership would get this done within a few months: -Connect Atlanta Beltline to MB Stadium with multiple crosstown routes -Street Vendors & Public Markets -Public Space Design Competition -Convert Parking into Public Patios -Car Free Streets

City of Atlanta should add housing on their surface parking lots, such as at rec centers & parks, via leasing air rights for development. Free parking is nice and all, however more neighbors with close proximity to reliable goods & services is better 😊

Line at Evergreen was abnormally short, however their baked goods looked as delicious as ever. Recommendation- give them a visit soon, please!

The ubiquitous cargo trikes of #Mexico are starting to electrify. #BikeSky #EV

hi, parking lot expert here! this is not funny, parking lots only do this when they’re in extreme distress.

Living within walking distance from an image like this is so good for your soul

Kaohsiung was a fun city to cycle around. This video shows a cycle track and sidewalk that run parallel to a linear park providing shade, bike share stations, seating and a playground. #bikesky #Taiwan #Kaohsiung #taiwancycling #cycling www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDVo...

Going up by the Capitol 👀

Small project- however I love this street corner. Planted curbs, ADA ramps roll you *into the crosswalk*, little library, shady trees… just need to extend the planted curbs to give more space instead of having ~3-4 lanes for cars where we could add raised planters & seating.

Howell Mill complete street lack of progress on the protected bike lane between 14th & Chattahoochee

I’m really just a part time food delivery guy for my +1

Frustrated by car traffic? A Mpls Cargo Bike Library bike can help! In this case, our Abound SR got this member to dinner faster by bike than it would’ve taken by car.

Bike parking is bike infrastructure. Bike parking can also be green infrastructure. Bastiaansplein, Delft.

Until 1995, Gdańk’s historic centre was reduced to the function of a corridor, with the main motor traffic flow to Warsaw running directly through the heart of the city. Since then, it has been transformed into an attractive and welcoming pedestrian zone; elevating it to the status of a living room.

A beautiful day to be a neighbor

1 safe school street only €6,000!!! Safe infrastructure does not cost a lot of money- we just need the will & vision to get it done. Atlanta’s budget can readily accommodate 50 of these.

To make Atlanta safer and easier to get around, we must expand areas for pedestrians, skaters, bikers, strollers, children, & wheelchair users to get around without conflict from cars & drivers. We do not *need* a car to get around, though yes absolutely can choose to drive.

I don’t want to drive a car now that I have kids…

Move👏the👏curb👏

In case you need a reminder of one of the benefits of rail on the Beltline as a companion to walking and biking.

When a city’s growth areas largely align with your Tax Allocation Districts, you largely constrain regular city services and budget by not receiving the full amount of revenues to be allocated to your constituents. We have an opportunity to change that soon, Atlanta. @julianbene.bsky.social

Atlanta needs leadership who will not only plan- but prioritizes getting the job done. Hear me out.

Almost forgot to post these guys. While I find them a bit large and obnoxious for the @AtlantaBeltline- tbh would prefer tbt BeltLine pursuing millions of dollars in grants to get more people to use bikes and things similar to this instead of the vans they vied for.

ATLANTA, WHEN?!?!?
